AMD chips designed for gamers (gamers tend to be the people who build their own systems, and are concerned for price...corporations tend to hire techs who have various certs, and give them an operating budget, then tell them they have to go through certain suppliers to get equipment, and so on...)

Intel makes a good chip, but spreads capabilities too "thinly", trying to make ONE chip that will fulifill ALL needs adequately, so they can sell same chip to big companies who need them for servers, databases, AND workstations, while AMD aims almost all of their marketing at personal users, which translates into "PC users smart enough to build their own damned machine, but broke enough to be price concious, and not under contract to a parts supplier"...which means they had to design something cheaper to make, but that would compare favorably IN THE AREAS their market is concerned with...that sure as fuck and "flops per ms" or "high load multithreading and timesharing"...being halfway intelligent, they made sure it would handle gaming functions better than an intel, and compare reasonably well in all other desktop-common uses, but make MISERABLE corporate platform procs....Intel will absolutely destroy AMD benchmarks in a high use server or database benchmark test, and lose to AMD on a gaming or webbrowsing related benchmark.

i like both.. :hitit:
