I am lookign for something to play games by myself and with friends, while waiting in line for a new movie or long car rides, or just relaxing somewhere.

I need a little help deciding which to get.

PSP has movies and what not, shorter battery life, and Crisis Core which comes out soon

DS has mario and pokemon and all the fun crap.

psp has the cool graphics. i love mine and don't get bored with it.

i have heard though that the ds has better game play. so i would say to go play either one at the bestbuy nearest you and decide on which one you want.

I've got both, my psp is an expensive paperweight. It's got all the multimedia shit, movies, mp3 etc, but you have a pc for that. Psp has also got a limited amount of games. If you wanna play some decent games on the go, go for the ds.

of the people who voted, and those voting in future, what games do you like for your handheld? And what games are you most anticipating in the future?

PSP: Metal Gear Solid: PO, Lumines, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

DS: Animal Crossing: Wild World (addictive), Advance Wars: Dual Strikes

Those are my favorites for both, but I must say, I do like the DS better.

DS, I actually play Pokemon, which isn't too bad when you need to kill time in school. Castlevania series is also fun on it, along with Animal Crossing and Mario Kart for multiplayer purposes.

I have a PSP that I don't even touch because the only thing it's good for is movies/music, which is why I have a Zune, and browsing the internet, which is kind of crappy, since it has a shitty keyboard.

pretty close. I think I counted 9 overall for psp and 8 overall for the DS. OldMnaPeterson's vote for DS, actually wil lcount for more than 1 since he is an O G

You can mod a psp which makes it 100% better. I currently have over 700+ super nintendo, regular nintendo, sega genesis, turbo graphics etc emulators and roms.

Plus, you can get any movie you want. Also, you can rip current games, and play them without the disk.

even though you pay extra that's what's keeping me from buying either, the mods and emulators...i think the ds would be more fun but i heart classic games

your signature is godly.

ugh.. I MUST know her name and where to find pictures of her.

Get a PSP. As of now with a custom firmware, PSP's gaming capabilities blow DS's out the sky.

So far, I got a PSP, got the most recent custom firmware released, and I got a lot of old Playstation games (FFVII on a PSP is great) and a crapload of GBA/SNES/Genesis/Game Gear roms that I play on it. I never get bored with it, unless I'm able to get on my laptop.

Overall, PSPs have now unofficially became mini-laptops, esp. with all the homebrew.

PSP is for ***gots, DS wins, and anyone who disagrees with me is a ***got.

^^One of the unfortunate few who doesn't have a PSP :D.

DS is cool, has some of my favorite games that I loved to play, however DS sucks in comparison as a multipurpose gaming device.

Where is the option for having neither and wanting neither. Playing games for more than half an hour tends to give me a headache. Anybody want to play tennis with me?

Owned one, sold it. Waste of cash. My PC is my multi-purpose gaming device, my 360 and DS being my other gaming devices. They all serve their purpose and aren't overpriced, overhyped fanboy shit.

You must have angered God in some manner for him to afflict you with an inability to play games for hours on end. You have my pity.

BTW I only go out on hunting trips, so GRAB YER SHOTGUN!!!

just because the DS has Cooking mama on it, it is deemed gay.

that is all.

PSP prevails, because n64 type graphic games are not meant to be made still

When in doubt buy em both? I know on DS you can load a Linux Operating system...But psp has better games and grafix I guess it would depend on what you want to use it for.

Homebrew > DS. PSP has some of the best homebrew ports on it and the PSX emulator is fucking nice. I'm running 3.3-OEC, it's got most of the shit you could ever need.

Still, it gets boring like most handhelds after a while.
