We got kicked offline last night around 12 now we're back up after getting a warning, and being told we have been downloading 'illegal' stuff.

All I can think of is the music I download, and thats NOTHING compared to the amount of shit some of my friend download.

Any of you guys had the same problem?

Whos your ISp, and i know they can monitor you but you would think they would'nt care as long as they got paid.

BT, it said something in the contract about downloads though. Meh, my friend downloads like 40GB of shit a week and he never gets caught rofl. Its just weird we was the unlucky ones. We're getting a letter next week some time.

isp plx, i want to know if i got the same.

Ive never had a problem with verizon but my close friend, he was monitored by comcast until he could learn how to hide his IP.

I got BT, and download torrents all day and night.

Haven't been giving any warnings, and i don't even try to deny or hide the fact of what im doing.

Hide his IP from his ISP..?

Yes, using either a proxy within his torrent client (i prefer utorrent) or even downloading and using hide ip platinum.

AS you said, even though this idea is "stupid" because in a way thier is no way you can hide your IP from your ISP since they are always monitoring it, YOU CAN hide your ip temorarily through Hide Ip Platinum since this program makes them work a little harder in determining the proxy your going through so while your downloading through Mirc, etc. , you ultimately are giving yourself a better shot at not getting caught downloading shit while your IP is being monitored. A proxy in utorrent really only hides your ip from being detected by the tracker who can report you to the ISP, so its a good idea to get in the habit of doing that if darkraven's ISP ever stops monitoring him.

nail on the head.

switch isp when you can.

although my isp are daylight robbers (charge approx $90/month in US dollars, im in australia), im free to use internets to get torrents n free stuff so i dont have to pay anything but the daylight robbers my isp are

i pay just less than that for mine £40 a month, or atleast i used to, we canceled BB from NTL but they are still giving us it. so we are just being quiet atm.

You cannot "hide your IP from your ISP". I hope you do understand that you

get an internet connection through your ISP. Your ISP provides you with

an IP address in some subnet. If you would change this you would not

be able to connect to the internet.

What you can do is use encryption like a VPN connection to a remote network, this cannot be monitored.

That doesn't "hide your IP temporarily", all it does is make your connections go through that proxy, which are usually not encrypted, and the proxy providers usually keep logs.

You can't hide your IP from your ISP, your ISP GIVES you your IP, the best you can do is encrypt the traffic, such as with a VPN or ssh tunneling.

Your ISP logs every move, I thought you were a leet hacksaw, but...

you speak truth.

people think they can use a proxy and they're untraceable, when really the police could figure out your REAL ip in seconds.

i'm sure they made it law or something that no one can surf the internet, ACTUALLY anonymously

What about torpark?

I have heard that all your ISP sees is you entering the tor servers and after that they cannot see where you end up.

Who knows for sure, they probably still have a way to monitor everything if they really want to.
