Has this been cracked yet? Or is there a permanent key or anything?

I have a couple copies and i tried one once but didnt have it on long enough to see if it was cracked or worked more than the 30 day timer.

Anyone know if this is done yet? If so, anyone have a permanent key for the 32bit version. (Ya Ya rules blah blah, id download a new copy, but my downloads wont go faster than 55kbs atm, so that would take maybe 1 or 2 months) So any help?

I'd offer to help, except there is no reason to upgrade. I got a legit copy of vista from a Microsoft friend for FREE! A Vista Ultimate copy full ($400.00!) and I am thinking about going back to XP. Yes its that bad. Just leave it alone.
yeah at my job, I had to reinstall XP professional on a Windows Ultimate machine... I would still rather stick with Ultimate...it can't be that bad, can it?
For gamers its terrible. Plus, with DirectSound removed, Creative Labs' sound cards work like shit because there no longer is EAX. Every game pre ~2005 used DirectSound and now its gone. Many games require Vista patches to work and some games still do not work properly (IE Fear Extraction Point)

Yeah i didnt even think about all the issues its had. Really the main reason i like it is the look, which still seems to be the only thing it has going for it. Ill probably just go with XP again and maybe actually buy a legit copy of XP pro if the damn prices would ever go down.

Well, this is as good a place as any. I am wiping my system and going back to XP.

Reasons!

  • Video Driver "stops responding" and needs to recover (freezes machine)
  • Shitty Creative Driver support
  • FEAR runs like shit and Extraction point has tons of shadow errors
  • Pidgin won't remember window positions or sizing
  • Pidgin won't "snap to" screen edges or other windows
  • Every game it seems needs a Vista patch to work right
  • No EAX
  • Hardly decent 5.1 sound in Games and music
  • IE7 (nuff said)
  • No DirectSound
  • Shit openGL
  • Aero Engine retardation with common media players
  • "Legacy" gameports not supported

And I can't play doom3 co-op with friends. :dunno:

you can find a pre-validated dell version on pirate bay, only thing you have

to do is install it.

i had it on my comp a few weeks ago but im back to xp pro, vista doesnt add much

download a legit copy of windows vista x86 as a torrent then use this program and tutorial to pirate. works like a charm since it stops the timer from progressing in vista thus you have a 30 day fully functional evaluation period that never expires. AND YES, this works for any version of vista including ultimate.

*In the long run tough, let Microsoft work out the kinks in vista and let a couple of new games come out for vista that will utilize directx10 before you switch from XP.

That didnt work for me.

Anyways, i had to reinstall again so i just went with Vista. Everytime i install XP some files cant be copied like driver.cab and other shit. But vista installed fine and its working better than XP. All i have to do it get a key or stop the timer, which ive tried to no avail. (CHECK YOUR PM FATTY)

Honestly i have to say Vista is 10times better than XP. My PC is running alot better and more stable now with it. With XP i honestly could not tell a difference between my old 3500 amd and my new 5600 amd but now i can tell the difference.

But i just think my copies of XP were fucked up.

I've got Vista Home Ultimate (or something... it has Aero) on my laptop, came preinstalled. It's not bad for productivity, web/email, video and audio, etc, but for gaming, it's shit.

Quite simply, Vista is a user-friendly OS insofar that as long as you don't ask something real special of it, it does what it's supposed to. I've been using IE7, WMP11, and automatic updates, all as MS prescribed. Only thing that really pissed me off was UAC, so I fiddled around with that a bit.

My laptop is certainly not a gaming machine, so I'm satisfied with Vista on it. A little Geometry Wars, some emulators with a 360 controller; it is enough.

But yeah, for gamers, pirates, tweakers, power users:

Stick with XP for another year or so.

Actually the only game ive tried so far is Unreal and my FPS went from 80 or so to over 100. Again this could've been my shit copies of XP (most likely) but thats a pretty good increase none the less. Only problem is now Unreal wont start and it says i have an invalid key, which i only have legit games and keys. So im not sure if thats a Vista problem or something else.

Im still stuck on the activation though. Pantheon (sp?) put out a crack that works 100% but all the torrents i find are passworded and the site they tell you to get the password from is down. Plus Demonoid is down also, so unless i can get the timer stopped, or a good key im screwed.

So far after about 10 hours of screwing around with Vista i havent really found any issues (cept for the Ut thing but thats debatable) So im still looking for the problems everyone else is complaining about.

I recently bought a laptop (toshiba) with Vista pre-installed.

It appears to be more secure as it needs your permission to practicaly do anything.

(Allow/deny) However BFV doesn't work properly (No crosshair)

I have noticed a trend with microsoft operating systems........as computers get faster Windows gets slower, much slower.

I got owned by M$.

I was trying to crack Vista or find a working key, everything i tried didnt work. I tried about 4 cracks and 3 or 4 keys and nothing. So on my 5th crack it said it installed and i had to restart so when i restarted i got the "This copy is not genuine" bs so i tried to re-install but no luck. So i had nothing but IE and anything i downloaded i couldnt open because i had no desktop.

So i got owned by Bill and i just installed Xp again and bought a legit copy of Vista off Ebay. Which i didnt know the price had dropped so much, i got a new copy of Vista Ultimate for 185$.

I havent had a legit copy of any Windows for about 5 years so this should be a good experience for me. No errors, no formatting every other month, i can install games, download movies, music and not have to worry about re-installing or losing it because of a shitty copy of Windows.

Vista is still better for me. Maybe all it has is better looks but with all the new shit thats out (360, PS3,etc..) Its about perfomance as well as looks, and i still havent had any problems with Vista, but ive had 100's of problems with XP.

i like my xp, its legal, and i have all my security programs. actually, i was thinking of going to linux instead of windows, as it has no errors, and you can do alot of things windows can (run windows programs, too). might give it a try on one of my old comps.
if you want to switch to linux try out red hat or ubuntu first, as it is the most user friendly. Swith to Gentoo later on when you feel comfortable with linux since it allows for maximum customizability. Suse is another good Distribution if you want to experiment with linux, you might even want to consider installing linux on a virtual machine before you decide to install it all by itself on a separate partition or hd in case something goes wrong with the distribtuion you choose to install.
