Posted July 7, 200717 yr My GF and I use my PC and we each have our own seperate accounts. Which is fine until today i open up WMP and see a bunch of her music in it. And i dont want her retarded music in with mine. So is there a way to just separate her files from mine? Would i need to create a new partition for her or install another OS onto a separate partition ? Basically i want her shit nowhere near mine. So would that require just me making a partition and that be hers or would i need to install an OS on it? And if i do install an OS and have 2 separate OS on 2 different partitions how will that affect my PC?

July 8, 200717 yr Dude, there's no way to separate accounts in windows. Who ever is the Admin will have access to everything. If both are admin... well you should be able to figure it out form here. Etiher have one account both can use, or get linux. http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
July 8, 200717 yr I would go with ubuntu. Partition your hard-drive. I have a 150 gb so I did it like this: 116gb - ntfs - Windows. 17gb - fat32 - Linux can't read ntfs so I made this one to share files between linux and windows. 17gb - ext3 - Default linux file system. She won't know how to use linux, Just give the root account and your own hard passwords, and she won't even know the names of any accounts to log in because they don't show up at the start screen. http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/4874/07yb8.jpg (not mine) Or you could get one of those windows Linux knockoffs, but I think they get totally pwned by Microsoft as soon as they come out so I don't know of any.
July 9, 200717 yr Author I think im just going to go ahead and finish her PC then. I would use Linux but she loves Vista and i just bought a copy (first legit copy of anything ive had in like 5 years) But even with Linux would that keep each account totally separate from each other? Ive never used it, just curious.

July 9, 200717 yr I realized that after I installed it, I actually didn't want it to be able to because there's a high likelyhood I'll fuck my linux install up, and I dont want them to be connected in any way at all.
