So I got a new wireless router modem or whatever it is, and it's still a direct input into the back of my computer but with wireless for the laptop I'm getting. No other computers are using the wireless but now when I try to connect to a counter strike source server, which worked earlier today on the old modem, I time out in a few seconds because of a ridiculously high ping. What the fuck is going on with this thing, can I troubleshoot it or what?
yeah mine are shit too except when i try to download too high or have this comp, laptop, and xboxlive online all at the same time the internet just shuts off for like 3 hours

Yeah same kind of thing happens to me, except it is only when I refresh the whole list of servers. If I only join servers on my favorites it works fine. Still really annoying.

well the service was fine, then we picked up the wireless thing for free from our providers and didn't install it right away, had no internet, installed it, now i have shitty internet for gaming.

;495717']configure your IP QOS to assign more bandwidth to the wireless connection

how would i go about doing that

Wireless router's are very peculiar. If you keep at it, you'll eventually find the settings that will give you comparable speeds (but not as fast as) hardwire. Try going into the firmware, depending on what type of router it is.
