So I got an external hard drive, a WD Passport I think it's called, and at first I was happy with it, until 30gb of music just vanished into nowhere.

Understandably I was pissed off so I started the collection again from scratch, only to have it happen again today. If this isn't odd enough I noticed that the folder isn't gone for good because it says there is about 40gb of space used up on the drive, when all I had on there was the music but the folder just isn't showing up, so it's obviously there somewhere.

If anyone could help with this I would appreciate it.

Don't EVER use any external harddrive with a USB connection. Go with one that has firewire.

USB connections always fuck with me real bad. I've lost a lot of info because of this shit.

Did you consider trying system restore? or like the thing in hlss 3.0 does when it searches for your cfg file, maybe you can search for your missing file via the files name? if all else fucks up, i just call dell or my isp and ask them for advice, most of the time they have answers

my suggestions
