August 18, 200717 yr Scanned it, found nothing. Although it does only seem like a patch that changes sounds and models of the original sven coop. :spank:
August 18, 200717 yr Author ill post the guide that i stole from off the sven forums This document contains all information about your job on the 3.5 Beta Testing Team and how to get started. Please read it through fully ! Hello all, If you're reading this, you're one of the lucky people who have got the chance to test Sven Co-op 3.5 Bronze. The initial release of hopefully three. This adds a bunch of features, mainly: - Reviving - New arms + weapon models - The splitting of the MP5 into two separate weapons. MP5 Scope (Primary normal, secondary scope) and M16A2 (primary burst, secondary AR grenades) - TOR! - Opposing Force Co-op - SAW - Bunch of other stuff that I'm probably going to be yelled at for forgetting. There are just a few things to take into consideration before you start testing: Terms and Conditions 1 - Don't forget you are actually here to test! If anything, please don't just download the files, look at the pretty models, maybe have a wander around the test server and then never play or mention it again. Thats a complete waste of our time. A good tester will nit-pick, bitch, moan and draw our attention to every little thing, as long as it hasn't been noticed before (See point 2) 2 - Don't repeat what's already been said In Alpha 1c (the same dll's are being used initially for Beta W1), the player models jitter. Its obvious and it will be fixed. We don't need to be told that they jitter. Especially not a hundred times by 20 different people. Check that what you've noticed hasn't been said before. 3 - Don't give away what isn't yours Please don't distribute any files to anyone outside of the testing team. Do I need to even explain why this one is a bad idea? 4 - This isn't your big chance to suggest a feature directly to the team Sven Co-op 3.5 is ridiculously delayed, so much so, they've actually launched a probe into orbit around Venus in a third of time its taken so far. This means lots of pressure to get Bronze out of the door and we hit feature cut-off point probably in mid 2005. So even if your idea is the best ever and guaranteed to make the entire internet population donate their life savings account into Sven's life savings account, at best its going to be in Silver. A thread will be provided for suggestions and ideas, just don't badger Sniper or expect anything to be put in. 5 - Don't ask for the server dlls We've restricted people to certain test servers for a few reasons. Which are: - The mod is practically useless without the server dll's, making standalone leaks almost impossible - The more people that have to force themselves onto one server the better (for stress testing) - Its easy to keep track of who shouldn't be on what server While this might present a few testing problems for mappers, all I can recommend is that you keep a separate folder for Sven Co-op 3.0 and test through that. 60 Meg will be more than happy to upload any maps you want testing to either server. The debug server is restricted to two players and has cheats enabled for any serious testing that is needed. 6 - Don't ask where certain features are I know a lot has been promised over the past few years (rocket grunts! Running and shooting! Custom weapons scripts!) but a number of these are pretty experimental features and have been held back for a while. If they're not shown in the testing or changelog, assume thats been the case. 7 - Custom Content Using your own custom weapon models, sounds, and sprites should NOT be used in a beta test. Everyone must use the same files for beta testing to be able to confirm that a particular bug is just not something on your end. Custom player models, weapon models, sounds, whatever should not be used. Custom sprays are fine, I don't give a shit. 8 - Hosting Files If you decide to fix/create files for the beta test and upload it to your own website the file must be in a protected directory (CHMOD 751) that the public cannot access without either a password or knowing the exact filename. All files should be .zip/.rar and password protected. 9 - Screenshots Remember to take a lot of screenshots ! The best screenshots will be used for news posts, so make sure you'll post the best from your collection. 10 - Have fun While the above might seem like spoilsport talk, this is a pretty relaxed event. All we want to do is make sure that the mod is the best it can be for the likely 100,000 people that will download it at some point in the future. You can make an impact on the quality and future of the mod! What needs testing ? During your stay at the beta test team there are a quite a few features that are in need of testing. Pay special attention to the following : 1 - General - Tor! (yes, the exclamation mark is necessary every time) Does he throw a fit when faced with fighting Alien Controllers. Does he spawn his allies into the ground before throwing himself at wall etc. This guy is planned to be a boss in many maps, so he has to be rock-hard without having stacks of hit points. - You can now "use" pushables to pick them up. This works in a similar way to how it does in HL2 - Usual testing, any new issues you notice, point out so they can be fixed. 2 - Maps - All 3.5 maps excluding Rampage - New version of Sandstone - Demonprey (as much as possible) - All potential 3.5 maps - Opposing Force Co-op Some changes to balancing/gameplay might have to be made, but leave those to Guardian. I want this to work properly, be fun and work well, as it will be a major selling point. A thread especially for this will be produced 3 - Weapons - All weapons and models need testing for glitches and errors. - M16 and MP5 Scope Swapping out the MP5 for these two new weapons will mean that some maps will require re-balancing/changes. Note where this is applicable, but only in official/potential maps. There are too many unofficial maps to make testing them viable. - SAW - Does being able to pick up satchel charges with "+use" break anything or allow any glitches? - Do any of the 3.0 exploits still work? Getting Started 1 - Submit your SteamID Now you are up to date about your task on this team, you can start beta testing.
