Posted August 21, 200717 yr Ive been getting that gay ass bsod ALOT lately. So far all ive seen it for is: portcls.sys (i think) and Driver_Not_less_or_equal. Sometimes they're in the same BSOD error. I just had a new one but i forgot what it was. Im more that sure it was for my DirectX. So far its either a bad driver, which i cant fucking find. More than likely my audio but it could also be my video driver. Both ive tried different, and older, drivers and its still the same. I think it might be my ram. But any ideas? It happens most when im playing Unreal Tournament 2004.
August 22, 200717 yr I'd say ram going bad could be a culprit. Try pulling one stick and running with just the remaining one (assuming you are running two sticks in dual channel). Then switch the sticks and repeat. If it is a bad stick of RAM, it will run fine with one and blue screen with the other. Then you'll be able to isolate the bad stick if that's the case. If you are running four sticks just work it one at a time. Do you have your rig overclocked? If so, try throttling it back a bit. Were you able to play Unreal fine before, or have you just recently installed it? Could be a bad driver but I have never had one just spontaneously corrupt. Have you installed any programs recently? Could try rolling back a week or two or three and see what happens. One last idea, it has been hot as balls the last couple weeks, could be as simple as your shit overheating. ->Bust open the case and clean all the fans and heatsinks out. Do this anyways, good maintenance. Hope this helps..

I turned off my printer and disable my system speakers and its going. Still gonna do the memtest.
August 26, 200717 yr Author I just now got one while playing UT usbport.exe and before that one i got another right after i started up my pc and i click my firefox icon and it was a driver_irql_not less or equal. I did what you said yomama right after the last one for the usbport. And ive gotten that one before also. Im using Vista so it could just be something not compatible with the OS because i probably got maybe 5 or 6 BSOD in the 5 years i used Xp but ive been using Vista for maybe 6 months and have had at least 30 Bsod's. Most within the last 2 months.

Which sucks because i just now figured it out for sure and i have about 5 hours before the deadline to RMA it is up. I got 3 new Screens. 1 didnt say anything. 2 gave me win32k.sys 3 gave me page fault not blah blah blah. Ghey! EDIT: SWEET. I still have 256 days to RMA. So im just going to buy a different set of RAM and then RMA the bad pair and sell it. Plus i applied for a Newegg card and got accepted for 2000.00 credit line. :D Anybody wanna buy 2gb mushkin ddr800 pc6400 ram sticks (after i get the new ones)?
