It was the weirdest thing, I shut my comp down, I go to school. Once I get back I boot up my comp, go on Firefox and all my bookmarks are gone... Thank God I just reformatted my hard drive and I saved all my important bookmarks. But that was a month ago, and I have a lot of newly saved bookmarks.

You know I switched from IE to FF because I heard it was better and more stable and blah blah blah, but man I think I might just go back to IE if this happens again. Anyways has anyone here ever had this problem? Or is this just an isolated incident?

It has happened to me three times. and all three times that it happened I had firefox open and I either just held the power button to turn it off or the power went out.

you share this here becaaaauuse....?

I share this because, 1 I would like to know if this is just an isolated incident, and 2 if there is a solution for this problem, but I suppose thats to complicated for you to figure that out on your own.

Anyways, thanks to the last 2 posters, you actually answered my Q's.

I'm the only one that uses my PC.

And yes, I know it's not Firefox's fault that I didn't back up everything. But honestly I've never thought I had to... I guess I learned my lesson this time.

SWAT,

Go in to ur 'Event Viewer' and see if you can find any errors the next time this happens.

Open it up now, for the hell of it, and see if you see errors.

do this k

1) My computer>tools>view>show hidden files and folders> ok

2) hard drive folder in my computer> documents and settings>your user name> application data>mozzila>

firefox>profiles>random stupid number folder.default>bookmarkbackups

3) find the latest backup (which firefox regularly makes) with all your bookmarks

4)copy and paste it into the previous folder

5)delete bookmarks.html

6) rename this file you copied to bookmarks.html

7) open firefox

8) watch porno

Not true it's known to happen a lot. Next time EXPORT your bookmarks from time to time, then you can put them back if you lose them...
