That's where it doesn't work. By saying "they wanted" does not imply to the point of "you" needing one or not, as at that point it's out of your power.

 

How can I put it...You want to eat, because if you don't, you'll die (you "need" to eat to compensate for energy/water sources).

 

Same with sex, although as of now most people choose not to have kids or someone's gay, when it comes down to nature itself and natural instinct, you basically want to have sex in order to satisfy the need of continuing the survival of your DNA or the human race in a broader aspect. Basically it's narrows down to natural selection, and that whole "only the strongest survive, blah blah" stuff and this is how we do it. Sex is just made enjoyable so that we'd continue to do it in order to continue the human survival (For example, would you want to have sex if it felt like 2000 needles were jabbing at your dick all at once, everytime you did a stroke?).

 

We as intelligent creatures have just learned to exploit that feeling without actually having to conceive a baby (hence, jacking off, condoms, buttsecks, etc.)
