Now that i actually read it....speak english. 1. You said you were sitting there and it went PLADHOW but then you say you dont know when this happened? What went on? You didnt do ANYTHING at all? 2. Its not a fa ggot windows setting and IT doesnt work on Windows or Linux? What doesnt? You might be drunk like me, but im just curious if this means anything. My sound fucks up now and then. Are you using XP or Vista. Vista has problems with everything so thats it if you have Vista. Xp is a whole different story.
October 27, 200717 yr Author its xp. what happened was like. i was moving my monitors around, accidentally unplugged external drives power. Went and ate some granola. came back, There was no sound. I was like. "wtf" so i checked all the sound setting and crap in windows and they were as they should be, so i was like "double wtf" so I unplugged the jack from the pc and plugged it into psp. and the speakers worked so I was like "triple wtf", So then I rebooted in Linux and sound still didn't work so i was like "quadruple wtf". Then I wiggled some things and like flicked and poked and stuff. and it still didn't work.

October 28, 200717 yr (btw, its fried) Can just the audio part fry without the rest of the MB frying? Im not computer savvy like most people here but if you're strapped for cash i would google and troubleshoot EVERYTHING i could think of. Would the unplugging of the HD mess up anything? Ive heard of not using the "Safely remove Hardware" thing and something messes up. You should just buy a card (im still shopping for a card, ive used onboard for like 5 years and im sick of it) But i would just mess around with everything. If its not fried its just something stupid that you missed. Like a checkbox isnt checked or some bullshit. Let me know what happens though, i love troubleshooting and learning about this stuff.

October 28, 200717 yr It doesn't work in windows or linux, So it isnt just a checkbox. Shit, i forgot you said that. Well yeah time for a sound card. I honestly didnt know if just one part of a MB could die, i knew fans could but not sound or video etc... If you're going to buy a sound card i made a thread asking for suggestions (since im looking for one myself) Its like 10 threads down. GL.
October 28, 200717 yr sp0 rkeh patch... ask on IRC for it, works almost with every issue... It checks your entire computer for hardware installed and than cross-checks it with possible problems. Best thing is that it updates it immediately after that! Free of charge!
