Posted October 31, 200717 yr I was sooooo close to getting an Hd Dvd player at Circuit City. It was 200$ and came with 5 HD DVD's. Great deal. But then i saw the Blue Ray and thought it looked just a little bit better. I keep reading about the format war and that Blue Ray is on top atm and may very well "win" So anyone have either/both and can give me your thoughts on which is better in your opinion.
October 31, 200717 yr They're both the same...k. And that guy "fuck_myg0t" is probably not going to be around much longer.
November 1, 200717 yr Author They're both the same...k. They are pretty much the same. Blue Ray to me looked just a tad bit better. And if they were exactly the same then there wouldnt be this "War" over which one is going to stick around. Don't you need an HD TV? edit: P.S. I hear blue ray sucks. I have an Hd TV. I bought Transformers HD and had no clue that it wouldnt play in a regular dvd player. ( i should read up more) I should have also mentioned that if i decide to go with BR or it looks like BR is going to be the format on top i might as well buy a PS3 since its maybe 50 to 100$ more than just a stand alone BR player. Im going to wait untill Black Friday now. That will give me a glance at what might come at Christmas time. Plus there are rumors of a PS3 price cut around December.
November 1, 200717 yr just get a PS3 ...it does it all. Sony's software makes regular DVD's look High Def.
November 1, 200717 yr HD-DVD is fucked wont ever be big, blue ray is the way edit : ty g0twaffle for letting me know that my english must be perfectioned
November 1, 200717 yr Jedi Pimp;523981']I'm not buying either format until one of them releases a DVD recorder version because I'm not spending money now just to play shit, and then later have to buy another unit that records. FUCK THAT SHIT Also, I am going buy a HD-DVD/Blu-ray region code free recorder, so I can buy cool shit like this Phantasm box set that is only region 2. http://www.anchorbay.co.uk/coverpix/dvd/large/abd4430.jpg I believe they already have Blu-Ray and HD-DVD recorders out there but they're insanely expensive as are the discs.. Backing up my whole Laptop on one 50GB BluRay disc would be pretty epic though.
November 1, 200717 yr The Sony Playstation 3 uses Blue Ray for its games to make them HD. If you dont like the way the PS3 looks on a HD TV then dont get Blue ray. If you do, then Blue Ray is probably the best way to go
November 1, 200717 yr Both are to watch movies...and I don't see the difference and because I can't see the difference, it doesn't matter.
