Posted November 10, 200717 yr Currently i am able to illegaly purchase an AK-47 for just $200. Now the problem is i'm Austfailian and i have two issues. The first and most important is ammuntion, any ideas on how i can get it? The second is i don't particulary want people hearing automatic/semi-automatic gunfire so i want to make a silencer. Is this even possible for an ak? If so does anyone know any sites and/or guides that could tell me how? It's not really a big deal if it's impossible to do, i'll just use it in semi-auto mode and wait a couple of seconds between shots. I know the basics of firearms but i'm by no meens an expert so any advice would be great.

Go to any Millwright, have them use a lathe to cut a 2" center on it. tap one side of the muzzle and the steel. then screw it together, Voila, home made silencer for about $75 cdn. About the ammunition, aslong as you dont buy HP you'll be fine (legally)

About the ammunition, as long as you dont buy HP you'll be fine (legally) There is much more then just putting a hunk of steel on the end of a gun to make it a silencer, the suppressor itself has smaller chambers inside, so that when the gas is released it first compresses into those chambers then is slowly lets out, so you would have to create the chambers first then wrap a piece of steel around it. http://guns.connect.fi/rs/r16mp5gr.GIF as for ammunition, i'm sure you can get it from the seller, if not, then i suggest buying reloading equipment from online and see if you can get it gift wrapped to set anyone at ease and get rid of questioning. from there you should be able to buy supplies to reload. I think Cabelas.com sells some stuff like that and would ship it over seas, but your customs might get a hold of it so thats gonna be a hard one also.

The AK-47 does not fire different ammo than 7.62x39mm Soviet. The AK-74 fires 5.45x39mm rounds Newer AKs fire the traditional Soviet rounds and the NATO standard 5.56x45mm. At least you know the 1911A1 is the finest combat pistol ever made. Other than that, you're a dumbass.
