Posted December 3, 200717 yr Hey, this is going to be the first cheat that I've coded. I'd like it to remain hush hush, at least for now, so that I won't be bothered about it. Anyway, I'm stuck at this one point here. I'm trying to find the player table in memory in for a certain game, but I'm not sure of some of the steps I should take. I'm thinking of reading in the game's map data and finding the player spawns from that, whereupon I go and search through memory for newly spawned players at those coordinates. Good / bad idea? How would someone else tackle this problem? The programming is no problem, I've got the code written out in C and am just waiting to plug in the coordinates. I've found the coordinates for the mouse already, I'm just having problems with the damned player table. I know that the player table is statically allocated, just not where.
December 5, 200717 yr Author Hey, did a little bit of searching and (lucky me!) the player table is fucking dynamic. I'm going to have to do some code injection. Anyway, its Halo and I'm on a Mac meaning I'm lacking a whole bunch of tools. I've written a wrapper class that communicates directly with the kernel to read and write to memory and build a primitive speed hack for Halo based on that, but I'm having some trouble with the other things. I think first things first I'm going to have to finish my memory hex editor. After that figure out how to use gnudebug (thats about all we've got) and then see where I stand after that.

January 9, 200817 yr Its cool to see someone hacking the mac. A simple way of finding your xyz is to check for changes in memory. Assume that the top left of the map is x==0 and y==0. Walk to the right (away from the corner) and check for memory addresses that have increased. repeat this until you have less than 100 addresses. Alternatively, you could walk up a ramp and check for addresses that have increased (or it could decrease, depending on the games reference point). The XYZ addresses should be in the same memory segment making it easier to find the rest. Under window you could use T-SEARCH. Im not sure what you can use. Good luck, if you find anything intresting post here. Also, there is a guy called macpunk at http://www.gamedeception.net, he might help you.

I'm sure you've not been to a forums were dick sucking butt pirates (arg maty) do not roam freely. And to contribute to this post, have you tried using hackz.GetPlayerPostition(playerhere)?
