Posted December 13, 200717 yr Title says it all, getting an XBox 360 for Christmas and I wanna know what people recommend. I'm gonna get Call Of Duty 4, Oblivion, Mass Effect, and skate but I'd like to know what others think.

December 13, 200717 yr Assassins Creed I wouldn't recommend. Cut scenes you cant skip which can get long and irritating. Game play is alright, fighting wise. Except for the fact that all you do in combat, is wait for the guy to attack, and hit X and you win. Pretty free roaming though, lots of space to spy on women and dogs N' stuff. Call of Duty 4 is awesome. AI is not retarded in the least bit, great graphics, good physics etc.Online is great fun. Single player, kinda has you follow a single path to get to your next objective, but at some points in the game, you can go pretty far. Sniper Gillie suits actually help in this game, camouflage really well in grass, so you can spy on women and dogs N' stuff. Maybe try Gears Of War? Gory fun game. Mass Effect, Its alright. I was expecting much more out of this game. Lots of places to go etc. "Free roaming supposedly", "Journey for planet to planet". Yeah you can go from planet to planet, but on all of the planets, there are barriers which you can only go so far. Sometimes your AI backup can get retarded and annoying IE shoot you in the spine, run in front of you while firing etc. It's a good idea that the producers let you choose your own armor, weapons and dresses for you and your teammates. I would also like to recommend Dead rising. Rainbow Six Vegas is also quite stunning.

If you're into racing games at all, go out and buy Forza 2 or PGR(3?) because I have heard great things about those two games, and have owned Forza 2 for 4 months now.. I'm still playing it even though I've beaten it. Most of the games nowadays though really depend on whether or not you're going to be getting xbox live, because most games have online now which is the only reason for getting them, like Halo 3.

December 13, 200717 yr Im a manager at EB Games and I can tell you what I have and what most people buy For skateboarding, skate is still a very good seller-its like GTA for skateboarding. For Shooter's/RPG's, Mass Effect-CoD4-Halo 3(Multiplayer)-Oblivion GOTY Edition(Has both expansions) A couple other suggestions- Blue Dragon-Turn based RPG, worked on by one of the FF producers, over 200 hours of gameplay. Dirt-One of the best racing games out right now on 360 (Rally Cars) Forza 2-Another great racer, over 250 cars, realistic like Gran Turismo, alot of customization Rainbow Six Vegas-Great shooter(First person) Amazing online, co-op, solid story mode, squad based tactical shooter. Vegas 2 was just announced as well. Gears of War-Amazing shooter(Third person), great story line, multiplayer is still kicking but not as hott since Halo 3/CoD4 came out. Still is played in MLG as well. Rock Band-Full band experience, drums/mic/guitar-better than guitar hero IMO, comes with 58 songs-they already released 6 song packs and there will be a total of about 200 songs out by mid 2008-graphics are amazing, huge customization options, I actually returned my guitar hero when I got it. This game will always be new, song packs every month, full albums every 2-3 months. That's a pretty good list to keep you busy for a while, also some really good titles coming out as well-Devil May Cry 4, Kingdom Under Fire:Circle of Doom, Burnout Paradise, Turok, Left 4 Dead, Too Human, GTA: 4, etc. Peace. December 14, 200717 yr i play nba 2k8 alot lately, not a bad game for offline if you like basketball. Mass Effect was ok but in the end I was only doing it for the achievements, which bored me. CBF completing the majority of the game with each fucking race. COD4 is a must. AC is too overhyped and the gameplay gets repetitive and dull. GOW is just a classic, worth the purchase for its price.
December 14, 200717 yr Don't get COD4... COD is the most overrated shitty series ever. All those games suck horse cock. Its the same shit you've seen over and over again. I like Madden 2008, but of course liking football is a prerequisite. The ability to modify plays on the field is amazing, as well as a diverse amount of plays in the playbook. A lot of people play Halo 3 online (which is a bonus). The story is the same as the other games. There is nothing really special about it. It is fun to play with friends too. Assassins Creed loses its fun when you realize the only reason you enjoy playing it is to sneak up and kill people in towns. Mass Effect looks like it kicks major ass. I am considering buying this game myself. I also like Guitar Hero (2 > 3, but 3 is still okay). Don't get multiple FPS games like most people are suggesting, because that is just fucking retarded.
December 15, 200717 yr Dude, CoD 4 got a 10/10 by ton's of reviews, and it sold out for the first month it was out at my store, even right now I have about 120 copies in the store because we sell at least 4-5 a day. The story line is solid and the online is great-and it's not like the others, the other's were WWII, this is modern warfare-set in the future actually. It's a great title to pick up.
