Posted January 21, 200817 yr Okay so my computer is running on 5 year old technology (that was low tier when it came out, and is probably considered a legacy computer now.) http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/7100/computerre0.th.jpg I want to upgrade the ram to either 512mb or to 1gb. And upgrade my graphics card, playing CS on steam takes up all of my memory so there is no room for multitasking (recording programs, music, xfire) Appearently my computer is pretty compatable with radeon and nvidia cards, and if i can afford it, I am going to upgrade my vcard too. But the ram is the most important right now. a few of my gamer friends told me this would be a good way to go, I figured i'd consult you guys. I can only run games like half-life without worrying about my computer crashing from not being powerful enough. Some people said i should just get a new one, but wouldnt upgrading be cheaper? input nao plox :nigga:
January 21, 200817 yr 512mb or to 1gb Is this a joke or are you too jewish to spend more? Get 2gb or more.
January 21, 200817 yr No, no and no. You're CPU cant handle it either. You need a new CPU, RAM, Video card(x2), Soundcard, Case, Powersupply, DVD-R, and a few extra cooling fans. Try spending about 1000$. Now, say you did only upgrade your video card and ram to 1gb. 1gb of ram is not a lot. I have 4 even though windows doesn't support all of it. And still get lag while playing games at max. I have two video cards, although not super powerful ones but they still have 1gb of video memory total. This doesn't mean shit either, lag will happen from time to time. I have a 4800+ dual core AMD CPU. Which is a lot more powerful then your POS processor. So the point of this is : If you upgrade your ram and video card without upgrading your CPU, you're just kicking yourself in the nuts. Bottleneck will make your system just as shit as it is now. Stupid faggot
