Today, at the headquarters in Greenwich, NASA announced plans of a new probe fleet to Mars tentatively named "Project Zonday," which will configure an underground mainframe for the first-ever Internets Connection outside of Earth. Since the Connection will be Dial-Up, a wired phone connection will also be available on Mars. The probe fleet will feature 20 Construction Robots (state-of-the-art assembly-bots that will be able to dig, as well as use hardware tools such as hammers and saws) and 10 Technical Robots (the Robots that will be responsible for assembling the Dial-Up mainframe and testing the Connectivity of the Connection).

Throughout the world, there have been mixed emotions over this new project. Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said that the decision was a foolish one, stating that, "allowing such technology to be out of the hands of human control could lead to a disastrous result." However, CNN CEO and Secondary NASA Chairman, Ted Turner said that, "these advances are extraordinary! Finally our horizon is expanding and, though surpassed by high-speed Internets here on Earth, we are finally able to get the Internets out to Mars. I can say that if this mission is a success, plans for basic cable on Mars will definitely be under way."

The probe fleet is expected to launch in late February and will arrive on Mars by June, 2008. The construction is expected to start immediately upon arrival and the Dial-Up Connection will be usable by about October 2010.

You don't understand what is the important of this. The Internets will be available on Mars! To have the Internets be connected to a planet literally thousands of miles away will open up mankind's possibilities vastly.
