February 23, 200817 yr Author The lightning signifies God's power. I guess a cross in the middle would have better defined the purpose. Basically, I got bored and threw some filters on the Israeli flag and decided to share with you all. Also, not that any of you care but, today I was driving through Oakwood and I came to a traffic light shining red. I was leaving a voice mail to a friend of mine and I was having trouble articulating my thoughts as they were coming to mind so I erased the message as I lowered my head to check on the intersecting traffic light. Seeing the color green I accidentally hit the accelerator propelling my truck and I across the red light ahead. The road was vacant so there was no apparent danger of a wreck. At first I said, "Oh well, at least there were not any police to see my mistake.". As the words were falling from my mouth I see Oakwood's finest sitting at a perfect vantage point to view the entire episode. He just stares at me as I pass him by continuing on my way. This to you may seem to be a common act of understanding/forgiveness but you do not know this particular group of policemen. Never would any one of these officers let such a grotesque crime go unpunished. Seriously, they don't let anyone off with a warning. EVER. I am trying to communicate to you all that my God shielded me from my own mistake today. This is not to say that because I serve a graceful God that I can go around doing whatever I want. The entire situation is a reflection, to me, of God's grace not only in an unimportant situation such as this but it points to a greater act of grace that the Lord exercised 1975 years ago through a man, His Son, named Jesus. If I come to the conclusion that it would not be right for me to go around doing what ever I want pertaining to the break I was given in Oakwood today, how much more should I feel the same about the eternal break I have been given in Jesus. In other words, how in the world can one deliberately defy what is pleasing to the One who gives so freely and indulge in the very acts which provoke Him to His face. The things which I speak of have great relevance in the world today where His "followers" worship with their lips but keep their hearts far from Him. Well, I hope what I have said permeates in some of your thoughts. ...umm. I guess that was stirring in my spirit.

The aftermath of that historical situation is the proof of God's word which says, "And I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you, and make your name great. And you will be a blessing. And I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you. And through you will all of the nations of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:2-3) Look at America now, the most prosperous nation on the face of the earth. Look at Israel now, they have the land God promised to their forefathers.
