nice danny

you use blender?

Nah, 3ds MAX and Vray on a 8-core workstation (dual-quad 2.33GHz clovertown xeon).

Blender has the worst user interface for a 3d application I have ever seen, and you need an external renderer to get any good results. Constantly exporting your scene to get feedback just kills the workflow speed.

ever use Cinema 4D?

No, but I have some friends who have.

They said it was alright; not as good as MAX or Maya, though.

Several of them started with it, and then migrated to MAX or Maya later.

However, anyone can produce professional-looking results with almost any software out there--free or not.

It really just depends on what interface you are comfortable with.

Although, with game development, you may run into compatibility issues with file formats.

Plugin support is also a concern.

The first one looks like a pussy made in art.... :/

some of your work totally sucks though, yes I do not know Jack Shit about photoshop but it should be 'cool' for ***s who don't use it either....

yeah I messed with C4D and hated it.... the way they had shit layed out was terrible. Maya is a much better program... maybe I should get back into 3D renderings

Cool stuff, how long have you been modeling? I too used to do this a while ago, this is one of my old pics

Tough question.

I have had MAX since 2001, but I have only really become competent at using it in the past 3-4 years. Although, I still suck shit at modeling people and organic things. I can do architecture and most inanimate objects well, though.

Looks good. You can see the bilinear filtering on the texture map though.

Thats what I thought too when I first saw it but ive spent a few hours learning it and the workflow is incredible.

Yeah, until you try a real 3D program.

Make Model -> Make Materials -> Apply Materials -> Configure Renderer -> Render

is a lot faster than:

Make Model -> Configure scene to conform to exporter specifications -> Export -> Import into renderer-> Make Materials -> Apply Materials -> Configure Renderer -> Render

And if you want to make changes...

Apply changes -> Render

is a lot faster than:

Apply Changes -> Make sure scene still conforms to exporter specifications -> Export -> Import into renderer-> Apply Materials -> Render
