That's cool but it's always been the authors (or rippers) decision to do such, not yours, and seeing as how most people contribute nothing what so ever I don't think many people have room to complain. In the entire history of Half-Life cheat development there have been VERY few original releases. Over 90% of what you are able to download for free today was not written by the people distributing it, not only that but most of those same distributors never give any kind of credit to the original author whatsoever. Very few client hooks have ever had to actually stay private to stay "undetected". The ones that did were most likely ripped as the new "authors" had not enough knowledge to actually write their own anti-cheat bypasses. So in a way this is what the Half-Life based cheating scene has brought on itself. It's pretty much the end that everyone saw coming and has been very slowly since about 2001.

Well, I disagree with everything you just said except the part about needing hacks to rage. I agree, you do not need hacks to rage and in fact some of the best rages are done without them. But they always help in different ways and different cases.

Look at it this way, before I bought EA I spent about a month or two trying to justify spending $100 on a hack program. I am the type that NEVER spends money to buy a program. Infact EA was the first time i spent money on software in about 10 years(apart from steam/multiplayer games). $100 is a big deal for me to spend let alone on software! But I convinced myself it would be worth it as I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity. Since I've gotten it, I have played with both legit as well as rage settings....both work VERY well. EA seems to be the front runner for CSS hacks and as I see it now they'll continue to be for a looong time to come.
