March 21, 200817 yr Quote sideways;552829']AMD fails. I use AMD, is it a fine CPU company. And the computer case is filled with mid level part cept for the 8800. It'll prolly be bottlenecked.

March 31, 200817 yr Dunno why you hating on thier rigs, they can easily pull off med/high on most new games. Tbh upgrading is too expensive nowadays, if you wanna be cutting edge you need at least £5000 a year (upgrade every 6 months). Sure it is ok for all you lonely guys who live in a small 1 bed flat and save every penny they make for computing and games, but average people have a life to live, family to support, and shit loads of bills, it is not economical to upgrade to cutting edge all the time.

I usually try and upgrade maybe once a year if that. I only bought the 8800 because it was around 140$ with shipping. It runs Fear on Max Video and High Cpu with no lag. And it never went under 60fps with the in-game test. I dont need an insane rig, just one that can handle most stuff. But it runs great, no problems at all.

For an extra 600$ i could gain 20 fps? I love rigs that are built with all the newest and best parts but there's really no reason for any person to own one unless they're pro gamers or some computer tech. Or its their hobby. p2n said: 8800GT 512mb is like way better than that 8800gts and cheaper. WELL FUCK! I looked on Newegg right before i bought mine off ebay and it was 180$ so i went with the 140$. Now i look at Newegg and its 145$ on there. I would've waited a few days if i knew that.

Read the thread before you start posting. To sum up for you. I dont need a crazy rig. The card i got runs great and runs everything i have. When they start making games like Crysis ALL THE TIME then ill upgrade. But by then the 9000 series will be obsolete. My video card can run anything with decent FPS. If you wanna blow 1000$ on a video card that will just be obsolete in 3 months, cool.

April 18, 200817 yr ASUS mobo + ASUS gfx card = win. When buying a new gfx card dont just look for the cheapest one, get a DECENT one. There's a big difference between IE ASUS 8800 and XFX 8800. I dont know Evga though so dunno if that's a good brand, and too lazy to look it up.
