March 31, 200817 yr are you really looking for advice and making your decision off the myg0t forums? seem like perfect army material to me. if you can't get a real job and want to be the governments nigger for the rest of your life, go for it. "how high can i jump sir, can i get shot for you sir, yes sir, want me to suck your dick sir?" i joined the reserves (Canadian army though, guessing there will be a difference) it was a good experience i suppose, BMQ was much easier than i thought it was going to be (never did my sSMQ) decided i didn't want to be a bitch crawling through mud, took my money and left. AT LEAST get a college degree THAN join, so you will be able to become a officer and not doing grunt work for 9+ yrs before getting some respect. ---------------- and going to the army to go kill some 'iraqis' may sound like a good idea, but you have to realize when you go in and if you actually do see some action, the 13 yr olds with the Ak's have WAYYYYY more experience than you fighting, so after they saw off your head and play soccer with it, you might be thinking the 40k a year or w/e won't be worth going to fight some retarded war in some retarded desert.

I'm sorry, but that has to be one of the most ignorant responses I have ever read.

April 1, 200817 yr Marine is ALWAYS capitalized. Also, what is up with all the non Devil Dogs giving advice on what will happen? Don't listen to a fucking word of 99.9% of this bullshit. ATTN civvies : STFU. That is all. If you think it is something you are truthfully interested in, get in contact with your local recruiting office.(Find A Recruiter ) If you aren't completely sure yet, talk to your recruiter and see if you can hook up with the poolees for some PT. Then you are at least moving forward while you think about it. As with any military service, you get out what you put into it. You first need to think about what you are willing to put into it, and what you are hoping to get out of it. Are you looking for a specific MOS?(keeping in mind that the Marine Corp will put you where you are needed. You can get guaranteed certain things on your contract, but not a specific MOS) What skills would you like to end up with? Are you willing to sign away 8 years of your life?(years served active depends, but ALL contracts are for 8 years) Are you willing to be away from the wife/girl friend for extended periods of time? There are a lot of questions you need to ask yourself. If your decision is in any way impacted by the opinions of the (mostly) children on this website, then I would advise you not to join. If you have any specific questions shoot me a PM.

April 5, 200817 yr Yeah I'm raged that I got into a 4 year university instead of shipping my ass overseas to the meat grinder....
April 10, 200817 yr Put yourself before any of that bullshit first. Make sure you get the job you want, the length of time for active service you want, and everything else. You will feel every fucking second of it after you sign your contract. I'm AD Army on leave from Iraq and military life is pretty much universal for all branches, so feel free to send a pm if you have any questions.
April 11, 200817 yr EyeReesh;557007']I have a question but I'll ask it here. Why are you such a tool? his name says it all, complete attention seeking joke.
April 15, 200817 yr until you turn 22, graduate, and instead of starting a career you just go to the grinder.
April 20, 200817 yr I just got out of boot camp on 18 April, and I have to say that it was the best decision of my life. From what I am reading, you are joining for the same reason I did and I have to say that you better make sure you are certain that you are joining for yourself and not because of money, education, or any other trash. I joined because I have always wanted to be a Marine. There has never been anything more satisfactory in my life than when I stepped out on that parade deck and received my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. I hope you make the right decision. Semper Fidelis
