ATI is the winnah!!

Lower price then the new Nvidia card (399 vs 499).

Higher performance in most games.

Less power consumption. (does not require 2 power connectors and a 480+ watt ps).

Less heat due to less power.

Takes up less space as well.

Ya...... I must say very nice. I'd buy this over the Nvidia card but again I will not spend more then $200 on a video card. Real benefit here will be the drop in price of the current high end cards (hopefully). It'd be nice if you can grab a Radeon 9800 pro or XT for like 150 or lower.

Wait and see.

fuck =[ i wanted nvidia to be on top.
fuck nvidia. they fucked up big time and now theyre paying for it. i used to be a geforce fan boy too but now i love ati. and they didn disappoint me. lets wait for hl2 and doom3 and youll see.
ati's drivers are shit and will always be shit. If I had the money I'd buy the Nvidia any day and enjoy games without having to tweak here and there just to eliminate certain glitches. The Catalyst drivers always have a problem no matter what the release, I remember the 3.7's overheated the card and destroyed monitors... never heard that kind of story with nvidia.

ATI own the fucking pants off Nvidia in the general cards

nvidia are better than ATI when either

1) you buy a shit card e.g. a 32mb Nvidia > 32mb ATI

2) you buy a top end Nvidia - costing about $700

with both of them, no1 gives a fuck or buys them

ATI wins

If the ATI drivers don't do it for you, grab that Omega drivers. They're third party and usually perform better than ATI drivers.

Obviously you didnt read the reviews. Cuz they praise ATI for having the better drivers then Nvidia with these new cards. I own both Nvidia and ATI cards and I will be the first to say, ATI cards just work. Nvidia cards require so much updating of drivers, ATI cards do not. They just work. Thats why I'm a ATI fan atm, as price/performance and a product that just works with no bullshit. I remember trying to play GTA 3 Vice city on my Geforce FX card, GTA had to put out a special patch just for Geforce FX cards, yet when I got my ATI card, it just worked, no patching, no updating shit.

So this old ass excuse, is really a urban myth now and is hardly true.

never tried it. what does xbox have in it (off topic)

thats why i had to wait for a patch for hitman: contracts , NFS Underground and Warcraft 3 just to have normal playability? Those are just the few games I've had problems with ATi cards. I don't care that much anymore though, that's expected of ATI, most games require patches to work with their cards. It's gay but I put up with it because my purchase didn't set me back $200 more.

sweet is there goign to be a one after this soon?

I will buy it and sell my 9800XT if there wont be a new one for a while after this.

ya im starting to lean toward ati

main reason i still support nvidia still is cuz i have never heard of them having driver problems, at least not like ati does

Ive played all those games fine on my ATi. Zero Patching.

ATi is better for the simple fact that you dont need to put a leaf blower in your case that sounds like a jet engine taking off. And now they suck so much power, whew, not only does it cost more for the initial purchase but it cost more in the long run too. Well, maybe your heating bill will go down?
