So i decided to take up the guitar. At the moment i am learning my trades on an acoustic but i wish to make the transition to Electric pretty soon.

Has anyone here had any experience with the iAxe?

The ability to connect it directly to my pc via a USB cable and record shit seems attractive to me, but i need user stories. Does it suck or not?

Priced between £91-£100 it's almost too cheap (and it even goes as low as £30 if bought second hand).

Bargain buy or does one get what they pay for?

u can connect and record to pc easily with real guitar jsut as easily. better to buy real electric and be able to use in gigs and stuff later. and theres guitar amp/effect simulation software on pc u can get off torrents. m y first was electric and i used it with pc and effects on pc for about a year when i bought pod xt live.

I doubt it's available around you but there's a small brand called Malden that isn't cheap, but is miles above other guitars in that price range.

Otherwise just shop around and play guitars until you find one that seems to fit, buying something you haven't played is retarded. As for recording, just get a line 6 toneport and use it as the input in audacity, that's what I use for my goregrind band.

Go to a music store and try all guitars out. Buy the one that sounds good and fits your budget.

If you can shell out about 2 or 3 grand for one of these you won't regret it, computer input or not.

for my first guitar i bought a BC Rich Warlock and it is pretty good for my needs, except the pickups suck at times.
