Posted May 12, 200816 yr Just a short how-to for those with Nintendo Wii's that want to softmod and install some Virtrual Console games for free. There are many other softmods for the Wii using the same process as well. 1. Items needed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Game SD Card SD Card reader on your PC 2. Install Twlight Hack on your SD Card and then your Wii through the card. I won't bother running you through this as it is well documented here: http://wiibrew.org/index.php?title=Twilight_Hack (Includes the files you need) 3. Download Wad Installer here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=2330 4. Extract the Wad Installer files to the root of your SD card and rename the wad-installer.elf file to boot.elf. 5. Make a folder on the root of your SD card called "wad". 6. Hit up a popular torrent search engine and search for virtual console to get a pack of virtual console wads. 7. Put the wads of the virtual console games you want to install in the wad folder on your SD card. Note you do not want to install games you have already purchased as this will create some conflicts. 8. Pop the SD card into your Wii and open up Twlight Princess game to start the Twlight Hack. 9. Once the buffer overflows from the Twlight Hack it will ask you to push rest on the Wii so it can run the Wad installer. Then it should read the contents of your wad folder and install whatever games are there to your Wii as channels. 10. It will tell you to push reset again when it is done and then you have the new VC channels/games on your Wii. May 14, 200816 yr Author This also works for Wii Ware games that are now out on the Wii Shop. They are already popping up on the torrents as well as .wads.
May 14, 200816 yr friend of me did it when he bought it (about when it was released) and he's got pretty much all "good" games. fire emblem was the best one i tried but even this one sucked monkey balls.
