made me lol, and not much does on the internet these days

this thread would need one reply saying:

piracy can't be stopped.

now close this thread.

Masrad;564412']Yeah. I mean' date=' what the hell could be so hard about it? Somebody's cracked practically everything that was said to be uncrackable, so..[/quote']

exactly...just about every mainstream software program has been cracked.

what's to stop other software companies to jump on the band wagon?

if game developers can do it, why not everybody?

this would just be a bump in the road. piracy on games will always be around.

Daedalus;564395']Unless motherboard manufacturers are forced to place this chip on their boards, people will probably avoid them anyway, so they won't

As long as this chip doesn't get embedded in many motherboards at the beginning most likely there's nothing to worry about.

But even if it does catch on, I'm sure there will be a workaround.

Exactly my thoughts.

I'm also surprised nobody has said HOW FUCKING OLD TPM (a.k.a. Palladium (Microsoft)) CHIPS ARE, Jesus Fucking Christ this is from like 2002 and you are just now hearing about it? It took the founder of Chuck E fucking Cheese to bring this to your attention?

TPM chips have been installed in many HP/DELL laptops since late 2005 already, not to mention Intel is already planning on putting this shit in their Southbridge chipsets THIS YEAR.

All of this shit was basically started by Microsoft and Intel back in 2001 as a way to get back at Asia for piracy and hacking is what it boils down to. If you read back at the many earlier news reports on the subject you see how it has evolved from a way to tighten up security and relates to trusted computing for American and international governments alike, into the current reasoning that it will bring mass profits since all of Asia will be forced to pay for computer software that they currently get free since ALL MAJOR SOFTWARE TITLES ARE MANUFACTURED AND DISTRIBUTED IN OR FROM THE CONTINENTS OF ASIA.

Trusted computing chips fail on so many levels its not even funny. It may stop a handful of average file sharers here in America and in Europe but the largest level of piracy occurring in Asia won't be affected enough to notice.

Yes, exactly as I said before! The solution is obvious, DESTROY CHUCK E. CHEESE~!

Ok ok in all seriousness though SX summed it up pretty well and this is indeed old so I move that we get on with DESTROYING CHUCK E. CHEESE!
