Posted June 15, 200816 yr New at this whole thing, is there any way to get unbanned for VAC servers after steam notifies you?
June 15, 200816 yr Yes. Make sure you follow these instructions carefully: -Go to "Start" -Select "My computer" -Click "Local Disk (C:)", it should be C:, unless you have multiple hard drives -Open the folder called "Windows" -Find the folder called "System32", open it. -Find the files/icons called "cmmon32" and "cmos.ram" -Delete BOTH of these. This will clear the stored memory files for processes running. It will erase the ban flag stored in your memory/client. But it also may delete past changes in the last 12 hours. It should solve your problem though. EDIT: You may need to restart for the changes to take effect. Edited June 15, 200816 yr by BrownPaperBag

June 16, 200816 yr deleted them both and re-installed steam and got a message saying i was banned from x games for cheating, this is a pain to begin with b/c i am not sure what the hell i did that was cheating to start with Make sure the above files I told you about did not get re-created. If they have, delete them again and restart your computer, not Steam.

June 18, 200816 yr Well i tried it on an account that got vaced back in 06. It didnt work, but ive reformated since then. IS that the reason??
June 18, 200816 yr Well i tried it on an account that got vaced back in 06. It didnt work, but ive reformated since then. IS that the reason?? It may be. The first method I gave seems to have been patched by VALVe. To accomplish it you'll have to delete your entire System32 folder and restart your computer. This SHOULD be able to delete the flag in your memories past, seeing as though even if you reformat, memory traces will not get deleted.

Yeah I tried this method and it worked, Thanks for your help everyone! @Thread Maker: Are you sure you deleted the whole entire system32 folder because it has worked 3 times for me now and I don't know what is wrong with yours. :dunno:

June 20, 200816 yr Don't do it, it fucks up your windows installation. Never try to get help on the myg0t forums. Then why should he take yours? Everyone in this thread is just trying to help.
June 20, 200816 yr Then why should he take yours? Everyone in this thread is just trying to help. exactly.. it doesnt harm your windows installation at all. it simply clears the vac cache
June 21, 200816 yr Well... This won't work, since your account is flagged in the Valve/Steam database, and that is however server side. But hell, if you're the owner of Valve/Steam and have the DB on your computer, well then deleting it might help... But no way this is gonna work, it's just gona fuck up your computer installation. Cause your changing it CLIENT side, and not SERVER side, where your account is stored in a databse, hacking the database might work, but not with this method. PERIOD! Andorenan.
