August 2, 200816 yr bioslippery;577521']Nice' date=' how is that college Danny? I am looking to go back to school.. trying to find one that is strong in traditional and also offers 'game art' related courses as well...[/quote'] As far as east-coast art colleges go, this is one of the best. However, it's also expensive as shit (24k per year, full time). I am currently going to the Atlanta campus, since it's fairly close to where I live. If you have a strong art portfolio, you can get scholarship that covers a decent portion of your tuition depending on how good it is. With my art that I submitted, I got a 10,000 dollar per year portfolio scholarship which is pretty nice. I believe you can get up to 18,000 dollars per year. in scholarship money just from the portfolio alone. A guy I knew graduated last year from SCAD, and now he is working as a graphic designer at Pixar. http://www.scad.edu I have only just completed my first year. August 3, 200816 yr bioslippery;577609']Yikes' date=' well I better start working on a portfolio then.. I just do a lot of anatomy studies/figure drawing.. and some random digital scribbles.. What would you advise for portfolio prep?[/quote'] For the portfolio scholarship, they want you to submit 10 to 20 of your BEST (important) COMPLETED (also important) works. Presentation is also important. Even though I just burned some JPEGs and AVIs to a CD-ROM without any sort of presentation, a fully-functional flash (or comparable) presentation of your work would probably work greatly in your favor. Don't submit unfinished works or junk. They favor quality over quantity. If you have 12 great works, and 6 more decent ones. Just leave those 6 out instead of trying to go for volume.
