July 25, 200816 yr If you are still interested in joining the USMC I would recommend that you not get any tats before hand. If you do, make sure they are within regulations.(read through the regulations on it very carefully, and I would even recommend calling a recruiter and describing the tat you want and ask if it will be O.K. You can't have any tattoos showing when wearing your PT shorts/T-Shirt. You also cannot have ANY tattoos relating to race/hate/ect. There are some other regulations on it as well. If do you get a tat and it is within regulations, when you DEP in they will have to take pictures of them, and write up descriptions on them and it will all be included in your file. (it's not a huge deal as long as they are within the new regs. I did it, it's just an extra couple of hours added to your process, or at least was for me because of the number of tats.) I just wanted to make sure you are aware of this if the Marine Corp is still an option for you. Just don't want you to disqualify yourself from joining the Corp without even knowing it. Not all tats that show will disqualify you, they do allow some small ones to show(I think), but it may require a waver/extra paper work ect. Edited July 25, 200816 yr by Captian
