July 30, 200816 yr Government is so god damn stupid, legalize it and fucking let people over 18 or 21 smoke the shit, while the kids are safe.
July 30, 200816 yr http://www.house.gov/frank/hr5843summary.html http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills...0_HR_5843.html http://blog.norml.org/tag/hr-5843/ california is trying to pass something that taxed 5 dollars for every plant grown and a license has to be issued by the state to grow and its like 50 bucks a year. and dispensaries will be taxed also
July 30, 200816 yr Are you in favor of legalizing marijuana? Yes 65% 96584 No 35% 51098 Total Votes: 147682 It would be better if they got someone who didn't sound like an idiot to make the speech, but hopefully this shit passes. We're on the way to being a free country :happysad:
July 30, 200816 yr "The resolution would not address laws forbidding growing, importing or exporting marijuana, or selling it for profit. The resolution also would not speak to state laws regarding marijuana use." Well it does leave room for states to be harsher if this were passed but I doubt any state would really bother. At any rate I love some of the pro-pot quotes and I'm glad to see that things may be changing.
July 31, 200816 yr Nice article. Government is so god damn stupid, legalize it and fucking let people over 18 or 21 smoke the shit, while the kids are safe. Qft, their main concerns are "gateway drug" and "youth corruption", both of them things can be cured with legalization for responsible adults.
July 31, 200816 yr I was going to post a really long post but then I remembered this forum is full of trolls. anyways lols.
July 31, 200816 yr lol @ potheads. Shut your goddam mouths and drink alcohol like everyone else, niggers. It's not like it being legal or not is actually stopping you from smoking it...
July 31, 200816 yr lol @ potheads. Shut your goddam mouths and drink alcohol like everyone else' date=' niggers. It's not like it being legal or not is actually stopping you from smoking it...[/quote'] It isn't %100 about just wanting to smoke it. America was established as a free country and by criminalizing drugs they are making it not so. Plenty of people who do not smoke marijuana are for legalizing. Why should we not be able to to stuff to our own bodies?
July 31, 200816 yr It isn't %100 about just wanting to smoke it. America was established as a free country and by criminalizing drugs they are making it not so. Are you serious? Now I know it's a stretch, but would you use that same logic for murder, rape, theft, any other crime? Plenty of people who do not smoke marijuana are for legalizing. Why should we not be able to to stuff to our own bodies? Because of the stupid shit you people do while high. I know not EVERY pothead is an idiot, but there is a reason that that stereotype exists. Then again, the same argument could be used for drinking, I guess. I, personally, have had more bad experiences with people who are fucking potheads. So I am biased. What it comes down to is this: Weed is harder to regulate than alcohol, hence the legality of each. niggers.
July 31, 200816 yr This bill will do nothing. Unless you're a major seller and ship across state lines the fed govt really doesn't give a shit about you, it's your state you gotta worry about.

July 31, 200816 yr i'm not sure about this, i'm not an marijuana advocator but on the other hand legalizing it and putting a % tax on it might be the only way to solve the criminality surrounding it..
July 31, 200816 yr Author wav;577110']I was going to post a really long post but then I remembered this forum is full of trolls. anyways lols. CNN is fairly full of trolls too, but i posted a long-winded post there so i figure i could waste my time here as well. People don't seem to understand the psychology behind drug addiction and so-called "gateway" drugs. First of all, and perhaps most importantly there is no such thing as a "gateway" drug. Addiction is a chemical imbalance in the brain which is inherited from your parents, if you have alcoholic or drug addicted parents you are 95% susceptible to becoming a drug addict yourself. Go look it up in a psychology book. The main reason it is not legal now is simple, the government could not possibly get as much money making it legal as it being illegal. I believe an exact quote from the CNN article was "every 38 seconds a marijuana user is arrested", now, lets analyze this, as the government's own DEA mentions in the article, first-time marijuana use rarely equates to jail time, it DOES however lead to decent fines, somewhere in the range of $50-$200 for a first offense. That would be ranging to somewhere in the billions or quite possibly trillions of dollars since the laws were first enacted. Marijuana can cause adverse effects, such as anxiety attacks and general anxiety as well as depression, however, in comparison to alcohol the repercussions are close to nill. Alchohol can kill you, that's a fact, alcohol is damaging to every tissue on the human body, anything it comes into contact with. Marijuana only causes temporary often recoverable problems at most. Now, down to the political part of my diatribe, the plain and clear fact is the majority of American citizens either don't mind the marijuana users; or they use it themselves. Democracy dictates it be legal, and for all the reasons above i choose that marijuana should be legalized.

I disagree that the government would make more money if it were illegal than if it was legal. If marijuana was completely legal, the number of head shops and marijuana dispensaries across the United States will multiply to a vast amount. Now, of course the government is going to want to tax the shit out of weed and paraphanalia.. Also, legalization will most likely lower the employment rate and then more tax will come from the employee's paychecks. Those fines every 38 or so seconds do seem to rack up some big money over a period of time though..

Those fines every 38 or so seconds do seem to rack up some big money over a period of time though.. Lower the employment rate? If that's the case, do you know how many people would actually benefit from this? A hell of a lot of people are unemployed, even those who don't smoke weed and live a normal life. I've seen college degree students struggle getting a job, so don't you think Legalizing weed would be a GOOD thing? I'm not a weed smoker, never will be either. However I do have brothers who've all smoked weed, graduated and work amazing jobs (not lazy) and make money. And not once have they done any other drugs (Hell, 2 of them been smoking it for almost 10+ years now), committed any crimes besides possessing and using it (which shouldn't be a crime in the first place), or anything associated with weed besides getting high and having a laugh fest while playing video games or watching some movie with the very occasional "munchies". Weed should be legalized in all cases, anyways. I've seen more alcohol-related deaths in my life than I've EVER seen of weed, and I'm only 21. Besides, weed is no more harmless than tobacco, they say a blunt has the THC content of 16 cigarettes but I've seen chain smokers go through 2 or 3 packs of cigs A DAY.
