The Bush administration said it would seek a resolution from the United Nations Security Council condemning Russian military actions in Georgia.

Do you think the US will intervene in this escalation? I personally think not, but I'm not sure what tricks George Bush has under his sleeves...

If he wanted to play that game (no pun intended)...We'd just get tanya to whoop some ass. SHOOP DA WOOP C4
Photos from the combat area show the wreck of the Tu-22 and a Frogfoot as well as a picture of the Backfire pilot in a Georgian hospital. The pilot was Col. Igor Zinov, a 50 year-old Tu-22M3 instructor pilot stationed at the Russian Flight Test Center at Akhtubinsk. (See Aviation Week's defense photo gallery for photos.)

"Ergo, the Russians are using their A-Team, as expected," a U.S. analyst says.

Other analysts say the Georgians are probably operating the SA-11 Buk-M1 (low-to-high altitude) and the (low-to-medium altitude) Tor-1M mobile air defense missile systems.

"The Russians have gone to great lengths to try and implicate the Ukraine in the Russian Air Force losses, even going as far as to suggest that an SA-5 sold to the Georgians by the Ukraine was responsible for the Backfire loss," a second U.S. analyst says. "That's clearly not the case, but shows the Russian attempt to bring the Ukraine into the periphery of this event by implication, and to attempt to explain how one of their premier long-range attack assets could have been shot down so easily.

Who is owning who now? Looks like Georgia is WTFpwn'ing the Russian Air Force.

Those reports are fake from the georgia army. There's no way a poor as shit country could even afford 12+ AA missiles.

Anyway, russia just took back a little bit of what was missing. 3 more to go.

CJ;579154']russia is a shitty broke down place of what it once was they wouldnt nuke nothing

Regardless, Russia's strong point has always been their man power, US troops are already spread thin, And Russia being communist would more than likely have the support of China, Cuba and other Communism countries. Remember the Cuban Missile Crises? You were the one's scared, not Russia. Sure, the Red Army has since collapsed, but I'm sure their government can fund a semi capable military. Your president needs to learn his place, and stay the fuck out of it.

HUH? You are a huge idiot. In 1961 the U.S. ballistic missile program was years ahead of the Soviet Union's. The U.S. had many more ICBMs that were half the range, twice the range, could launch underwater, along with SAC, and more reliable. Whereas Soviet missiles were vulnerable, extremely large and very unreliable.

Your facts are incorrect. Russia does not practice Communism. You must be thinking of the now non-existent Soviet Union. Russia's government is now a republic with three branches similar to the US and an elected president. China also does not fully practice Communism. China is a "People's Republic" with an elected president, etc. They are a single party state, however, with only the Chinese Communist Party being allowed to run for offices.

Also, as Georgia are somewhat allies of the US of A, American troops may just find their way into this war, leading to an inevitable World War III.
