Posted August 29, 200816 yr http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/22/tyans-40-cpu-personal-supercomputer-now-shipping/ Prices start at just $20,000 for a 40 CPU Core (10x quad-core Intel Xeons) system configurable with up to 60GB of RAM and a power draw of just 15A. And it's "portable" in the same way a refrigerator is portable: it has wheels. now you guys can check your email and play cs1.6 without any lag
August 30, 200816 yr FYI you can build an 8-node render farm with 2 xeon quad-cores and 8GB of RAM per node (making 64 cores in total) with standard server parts bought through newegg or whatever for only $14,000. I guess it gets expensive when you try to jam all that shit into a single PC.

August 30, 200816 yr actual purpose? possible uses? instant porn of course. Why else would you need so much power.

August 30, 200816 yr internet is srs business. A serious use would be to process things rapidly. Anywhere from running 100 programs to creating images that are a mil pixels by a mil pixels. Honestly Im not entirely sure. You'd still have a bottle neck at the GPU if you were going to be playing high end games...
