The cure is evolution.

It is rare, but there are people who have a natural immunity to HIV.

This is due to them lacking proper receptacle molecules for the HIV virus to attach.

Infect enough people, and the people who are immune will live to reproduce. The ones who are not immune eventually die without offspring or offspring that will not live to sexual maturity. The next generation naturally inherits the HIV immunity from their parents.

This is similar to the effect of taking antibiotics for an extended period of time causing antibiotic-resistant bacteria to survive, only scaled to massive populations of humans instead of cultures of bacteria.

Yeah remember the plague in Europe? It killed most of those infected who lacked two copies of the mutated delta 32 gene.

Some mutations of AIDS virus can still interface with immune cells even if the person has two mutated copies of the gene.

However a bullet to a /!\ G.R.I.D.S. /!\ infested freak's head is the best solution.
