Posted October 3, 200816 yr well I woke up this morning and went to turn my computer on but nothing happened. I dont really want to take my computer to some dude for him to fix it cause he might be some fgt ive raged before what could be the problem?
October 3, 200816 yr If nothing happens at all, no lights, no sound, no fans spinning, then the power supply went out. Replace the power supply, unless you got some wierd case, you can pick one up at any store that sells computer shit. Very easy to change out. Also note that most power supplies have a switch on the back of them, that could be in an OFF position causing you to get no power. Edited October 3, 200816 yr by [myg0t]OldManPeterson
October 4, 200816 yr check everything in this order powersupply - does the fan start spinning motherboard- is the motherboard dead? cpu- did the cpu die? (unlikely) A buddy of mine wanted me to check out his computer 3 days ago (same problem) and his e8400 died lol
October 4, 200816 yr Check all connections inside the computer before continuing. First, unplug your computer from the power outlet. Second, hold down the power button for 30 seconds(this will drain the capacitors in your motherboard which can inhibit the needed power relays from working) Third, plug it all back in and try and turn it on. If these steps don't work you have a power issue. Remove any unneeded hardware from the power(everything but the motherboards connections). Then try to power it on. If there's no power at this point you need to try another equivalent PSU to determine if you're having a power supply issue. If that's not possible you will have to bring this thing to a technician. Other things to consider, are there many brown outs in your area?(When the power on the main lines lowers to less than 80% of the normal voltages) If it does this from time to time, it might have blown out your PSU. To avoid this get an uninterruptible power supply.

October 11, 200816 yr What mobo was it? A8N-SLI. 3800+ X2 cpu, and two gigs of mem. But yeah, everything would turn on but it wouldn't post. It could be the PSU, but I'll only find that out after I receive it. Thankfully I have warranty on it.
