Posted October 15, 200816 yr I just received my absentee voting ballot in the mail a couple weeks ago, and they misspelled my first name. Instead of Richard they spelt it Ricahrd.. Now I know this may not be that big of a deal, but my jury duty summons came in today and it is misspelled as well. Seems like somehow my legal first name got changed along the lines somewhere. Does anyone know where I can call or go to to get this fixed?
October 15, 200816 yr Author just start calling yourself Ricahrdo. Already tried that, but I'm not Mexican or Hispanic in any way so that doesn't exactly work out. :/ Plus, I like having the freedoms and privileges that white men get over other races.

October 16, 200816 yr Buh, I'd say go to the town hall in person and ask around, they'd be able to point you in the right direction if they can't fix it themselves.
October 16, 200816 yr RIFK @ jury duty, that actually works btw, misspelled names will get you out of it, ive seen much stupider shit work, the jury system is a fucking joke. also, goto the SSN office, they are the ones who handle your actual name and citizenship certifications and all that. i remember once when i was in high school and worked for Wal-Mart, they actually called the local SSN department and had my first and first middle names (yes, i have two middle names) combined into one thereby legally changing my first name to IANGRANT (no hyphen or space), it was a pain to get it fixed considering to change it in the first place they never once spoke to me, all done via computers.

It is a joke. You used to be able to get out of it by saying you are racist. I don't know if that works anymore though.
