Never Say Die: Why We Can't Imagine Death

Why so many of us think our minds continue on after we die

Really interesting article. I occasionally ponder what happens to us after we die. After reading this I felt relieved I wasn't the only person thinking about this...

another thing that seems to cross my mind after thinking about death is how insignificant we all really are. We are just specks compared to the size of the universe. Our achievements, our lives, everything we ever loved or hated means absolutely nothing in the big picture. Our problems are nothing and mean nothing and they dont matter. What will happen 1000 years from now? Million years? The universe will always exist and when the earth becomes empty and when the sun dies out, it will mean nothing. Our lives are nothing.

What are your thoughts on this?

I consider my goal in life is to have as much fun as possible, and to give help to someone in need whenever the chance arises.

It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.

Stay Classy.

I'm going to die be fertilizer for a tree then some guy with a chainsaw gonna cut down that tree make it into some paper and print the bible on it. - short paraphrase of mr Cook
After I die, I'm going to grow big, beautiful wings. I'm going to fly up and give Jesus a big ol hug.

everytime i think about shit like this it always comes back to one thing. how did the fucking universe get here. then i continue to rage myself thinking about it

we know the universe is always expanding. what the fuck is it expanding into? whats beyond the expansion area?

maybe the earth/universe is our own races experiment?

we arent shit. nothing we do will matter, ever.

erm yeah, that article is pretty much stating the obvious, as utterly depressing as it may be lol

just don't dwell on that shit :-} yes we're all going to die and life is very short, and yes, in the long run our lives are pretty pointless.

Doesn't mean we don't love our friends/family and enjoy doin certain shit. as cliche as it is enjoy your life to the max and don't give 3 shits what anyone thinks about you ever, because nobody means shit apart from the ones close to you.

I'd rather not give a shit about this article and continue to live my life. I don't want to waste my time reading the obvious and be emo about it. Whatever happens, happens.
