Posted November 15, 200816 yr I need help identifying the darker guitar string. For comparison the lighter one is phosphor bronze. The darker one sounds mellower than the bronze. What is it:confused: http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/3284/hpim3675gx0.jpg http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/6180/hpim3668ei2.jpg http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/8338/hpim3672xj0.jpg
November 15, 200816 yr Author The darker one appears to be an accoustic string, from what I gather. I need to know the metal.
November 15, 200816 yr Why would you need to know the actual metal...just get a bunch of Martin strings...they're the best.

November 16, 200816 yr the answer is it doesnt matter. replace all the strings, that way you know they will match. theres virtually no way to know exactly what string it is, so just buy a full set also strings wear out after a month or two of continuous play, so it would sound different even if you did find exact matches

I want a more mellow sound.:drool2:

What you are hearing is a change from old dull strings to new tight ones. Deal wit it. Eric claptons series are good too. holy shit im drunk.
