well i made a thread a couple weeks ago about my new custom build or whatever the fuck. well it got delivered and me and my friend started putting it together and it was nothing but problems from the get go. motherboard 24pin, cpu fan, gpu slot were fucked. it smoked on the first power turn on. the packaging was shitty(newegg). blah blah so i sent it all back for refund(huge mistake). restocking fees and shipping fucked me in the ass for a waste of cash. well so then the next day me and my friend that help me build it got a little tipsy and i was like fuck it. then went up to CompRen and just told them to build me a rig with the best shit they have. 4gig ram, tb harddrive best mobo, etc. well in my drunken state i wasnt thinking fully about video.. and now i guess the best one they had in stock was the thread titles(wtf?) so i guess what i want to know is if im going to have to upgrade asap or will it be ok for a while... i guess what i mean is if i cant play the new COD on MAX im gonna get a new one.

help appreciated.

What about the 8800GT? It's probably the only good card from Nvidia anyway...

GOLF SHOES

get two 8800 gts (g92 core) in sli. or two 260 gtx core 216 cards in sli or 9800 gtx+ in sli

8800 gts :

9800 gtx+

gtx260 core 216 ( basically a gtx 280 but 100 dollars less )

if you got a nice mobo you can run 3 of the 9800 gtx+'s or gtx 260's in tri sli for more performance later on down the road.

if you want heat problems go with ati. if you want sli in one card go with a 9800 gx2 they are 300 now aswell. its basically two 8800's in one card but these run hot but you can control it with fan control but you need a ton of power for these one 6 pin and one 8 pin pci-e power.

i currently run 2 9800gx2's for quad sli and it rapes all the new games into submission. when it scales properly it beats 2 gtx 280's in sli which are 400 bucks a piece still.

what mobo did you end up getting? and what size is your power supply? i would recommend 800 + watts as these newer cards draw more power
