Unfortunately for you, the Intel performs better than your Phenom. His Q6700 has more L2 cache than your Phenom and is actually clocked higher. Not to say that I like Intel, but it's the truth. All a Core 2 Quad really is is just a really beefed up dual core. Quads are a waste right now as not all apps are optimized for multithreading. Hence, a really beefy dual core will give you better performance. You're not future proofing yourself by buying a quad because by the time quads are the standard (as dual cores are now), your quad will be a piece of shit and the newer quads will rape the shit out of it. Compare Pentium D to Core 2 Duo. Compare the AX2 3800 to the AX2 6400.

Besides, if you're gaming you'll want to pay more for a better GPU anyway because processor doesn't matter much in gaming. No questions.

If you own the 4870, then why in the pictue is the GPU cooler single slot? It's a 4850, you liar. Also, 1GB of video memory gives you little to no advantage. Also, your case is horrid. Other than that you've got some fine-ass systems.

Also the 4870 is 12pin PCI-E, that GPU is a 6.

Case: Galaxy III (I got it because the design reminds me of a runic SS symbol, it has blue lights and because i'm a cheap bastard http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NOV-GAL3)

Mobo: UD3R gigabyte

Core: Q6600 (still at 2.4, going to clock it to atleast 3 soon)

GPU: ATi HD 4870 1GB

RAM : 4gb Corsair (800mhz I think, can't remember for the life of me)

HDD: Seagate 500GB

PSU: 500W Silverstone Strider ST50F

Heatsink: Some cheapo Akasa fan that cost me about £10 and is frankly a bargain
