March 31, 200916 yr It is true. There is no step 5 and there hasn't been for literally ages. It all started a long time ago... Originally when myg0t migrated from a street gang to the Internet, the bossmen wanted to fuel popularity by allowing open membership for a while. The only catch was that applicants had to show they were committed by baking a cake. At this time myg0t did not have a website and operated on a primitive form of telecommunication called IRC. Many of you probably have never heard of IRC and I know it must be hard for you to comprehend the concept, but it was a screen where you could type words to other people in a group. Anyway, when myg0t implemented the Cake Bake Policy there were 5 rules: 1) Bake a cake 2) Write "myg0t owns me" on it 3) Take a picture of the cake with your face next to it 4) Take a pic of you eating the cake 5) Log into IRC and show us the cake pictures In 2003, myg0t helped software designers from IBM pioneer a new technology called the Forum. The Big 3, SourceX, OldManPeterson, and g0d, gathered in a committee to develop quality standards for their new Forum. One topic discussed at the meeting was the need to update the membership requirements. Here they appended a 6th rule: 6) Post the pics in the forums in a thread titled "my cake for myg0t" It was intended to boost Forum activity by by familiarizing people with Forum technology--and it was quite successful. Eventually, myg0t moved all of their assets onto the Forum and, after a few months, halted all IRC operations. Sometime in early 2004 a now ex-myg0t named Chaos Jessy was temporarily given administrative powers. He realized the inapplicability of the 5th rule, or IRC Rule as it was known, and deleted it from the list. Unfortunately, he forgot to renumber the list; it now skipped rule 5 and went straight from 4 to 6. Chaos Jessy was kicked out of myg0t for his insolence. The bossmen kept his mistake on the list as a jovial reminder of Jessy's antics. In early 2007, cake baking was out of control, so far as to the point of ridicule by Forum users. myg0t had become quite exclusive and had no need to continue soliciting membership. To deter people from baking cakes, hidden 7th and 8th rules were added. Rule 7 never made it past the drawing board since it involved obscene pornographic content, but rule 8 was placed in fine print much below the other rules: 8) Dont forget to wear a party hat There have only been 3 people who have noted the 8th rule: v0dka, Ho Chi Man, and AltMan. The attempt to lower membership admittance rates was considered widely successful by many critics of the organization. Overall we can see how great success has come from the tactful policies of the myg0t administration. Way to go, team! Source: Wikipedia Edited March 31, 200916 yr by John_Winthrop Usage Corrections
