Digital 3d Visual Effects class, assignment 1: recreating a scene from a film.

I chose "The Fall":

Properly lit and textured version in assignment 2.

Very nice! This is something I can appreciate a lot more than bioslippery's drawings.

Btw turtle, he doesn't actually attend SCAD here in Savannah but instead he takes classes up in Atlanta.

thats incredible, how long did it take to finalize the rendering and what not?

Modeling took almost 12 hours. I tried to match the geometry as close as I could to the reference material.

The lighting is just temporary, so I can see the detail. I'll have a properly lit version next week.

bioslippery;618117']Well done man' date=' any character design work (orthographic etc) ?[/quote']

No one sucks more at character work than me, so I have nothing that I've been proud enough of to keep.

Here's the final version.

For the assignment, no global illumination, ambient occlusion, or advanced shaders were allowed. We were restricted to plain 90's-style scanline rendering.

Looks really good, especially the foreground. The farther it gets the more stretched the textures look. I suppose it's nothing you can fix. It still looks awesome.

Thanks.

If i was allowed to use rendering and shading methods of my choice, it would look a lot better.
