Posted June 3, 200915 yr After 6 months of l4d being out they have decided to make a new one. Not only did players pay 50 dollars for l4d but they got free major bugs, shitty lobby system, 4 maps and a major update which included 2 vs maps they never got a chance to finish with on the first release of the game. L4D forums has never been funnier. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=130 Red face Mishandled L4D release and updates, then you announce L4D2?! Slap in the face indeed! Wow, Valve... wow. I'm not sure if I should consider L4D2 just a blazing slap in the face based on pure ignorant marketing, or if you have the nerve to think that you handled the release of L4D well. All I can say is how DARE you think this is acceptable. Left 4 Dead one has to be the the WORST handled release/update of a Valve game in the history of the company. It is under supported, clearly lacked large gaps of content on release, bugged like crazy, and community support was laughable. ... and then you announce Left 2 Dead 2 after waiting almost half a YEAR for you to finish the initial content for Left 4 Dead 1?! Sure people will buy it; however, you slap your customers in the face with these company practices and you can assure that many will NOT buy it and will absolutely not reserve any copies. I for one, after your poor and shameful mishandling of Left 4 Dead 1 will NOT be buying Left 4 Dead 2. How dare you Valve... My limited funds will be going to Blizzard or another company's release instead of yours. I'm sure many (not all of course) will make the same choice after reading the forums. I used to respect Valve as a company, but you have lost all respect due to the mishandingly of L4D and disrespect of your customer base. Good bye. Edit: For those thinking it is not a joke. To answer your immediate question: Yes, this is a completely new game, with new characters, in a new location, with new zombies, new weapons, new twists, and an improved Director, in five completely new campaigns set in the Southern United States. This isn’t more maps for the previous game, it’s a brand new game, and it’s due this November." Furthermore, previous promises of content to be added. http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/le...nch_plans.html The price you'll pay for all the previously promised updates, content, and "USER THOUGHT UP" content? $30? $40? Of course not... SIXTY DOLLARS Xbox and FIFTY PC! That is right, you want what was promised to you as content for L4D when it was released? Well, you have to pay more than even L4D was! Source: http://www.amazon.com/Left4Dead-2-Xb...4005881&sr=1-1 Simple people bought the game knowing it was light on content cause they were expecting more to be added. Especially since Valve said as much. Now we find out we are not getting jack but can rebuy the game next fall. http://www.gamestop.com/browse/searc...204%20dead%202 Edited June 4, 200915 yr by n00b4life

June 4, 200915 yr what makes the rage that much more hilarious is that valve took all the ideas from the L4D forums to make the game better, and put them into the new game without warning. Seriously, this is the BIGGEST cockslap by Valve EVER.
June 4, 200915 yr Gabe Newell just raged a whole gaming community, by doing one act of awesomeness. newell for myg0t 09 definitely.

Valve and Vivendi ripping off the consumer - Posted on Saturday, November 13 @ 8:10 PM by [myg0t]OldManPeterson ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, this is what always happens when a game is finished being developed and is ready to be shipped to retailers. The publisher sets a release date of for a game to come out in stores. Around the time of this release date, retailers begin to receive the game. What also happens every time is retailers often release the game a few days before this actual date. Why? Most retailers will put the game on the shelves the minute they get it in stock. They do not care about release dates; they care about selling products and making money. This is nothing new; this has been going since video games have been around. What is new is that a game developer (Valve) and publisher (Vivendi) has actually blocked the game from being used prior to the release date. So you go out to say BestBuy and purchase the game (Half-Life 2). You get home and install it and get told prior to playing that you have to register the game via steam before you can play it. You attempt to do this but cannot because Valve is blocking it as its not the release date yet. Yet, nowhere on the box does it state this. Now you might think, ok, big deal, take the game back if your not happy. Well, the majority of retailers have a strict policy when it comes to video games, if its been opened, it cannot be returned. This is due to piracy concerns. Even EBGames who use to allow you to return opened games for any reason, has since changed this policy and do not allow returns, unless they are defective and only then for a exchange of the exact same product. So at this point your just ripped off, a game you cannot play, a game you cannot return and again no where on the box does it warn you of this. This is what many gamers are currently going through worldwide. What does Valve do to address this? They shut down thier forums to cut off the fans from voicing complaints to those responsible **update, they reopened the forums**. They did howerver post a news post that explains why they cannot allow anyone to play it till the 16th. How they managed to overlook the fact the game would end up on retailer shelves early like it always does when making the contract with Vivendi, is something only Valve could do. Good job Valve, you just raged your fans better then myg0t has all year. For this myg0t salutes you, keep up the good work.
