Posted September 17, 201014 yr This is a budget gaming comp, I'm trying to keep around 1,000$ +/- Mobo: ASUS SABERTOOTH 55i LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131601&cm_re=ASUS_Sabertooth_55i-_-13-131-601-_-Product CPU: Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor BX80605I7860 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115214&cm_re=Intel_Core_i7-860-_-19-115-214-_-Product Video Card: HIS H585FN1GD Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161330&cm_re=radeon_hd_5850-_-14-161-330-_-Product I have already: Monitor Keyboard Mouse (Soundcard built into mobo) The ram I havn't decided yet, any opinions would be nice. My goal is to play top end games at/or near the max settings. I have been thinking about getting a new HD that is supposed to make be pretty fast, not sure if it's worth the money but here it is anyway. Such as: Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136296&cm_re=Velociraptor-_-22-136-296-_-Product Everything else I havn't mentioned I'm thinking of going to Fry's or some equivalent store and see about getting the midrange/deal they sell there. fyi, I already have a case. Is this comp crap? good/crap? or good?
September 17, 201014 yr looks gr8 but i'd go with a gigabyte equivalent rather than an asus mobo. also needs more 5900rpm hard drives.

Good call, did some research seems like there a decent brand. And it comes with USB 3.0 which I never knew existed till now. Anyway I'll be grabbing this mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128417
September 19, 201014 yr Author I'm split between these 2 for RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D $180 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224 Or G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL $92 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-231-277&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfo They both seem good, but for the $92 price tag of the Ripjaw series seems very affordable, but not sure If I would be wasting money.
September 19, 201014 yr Noticed you had only one HDD on there. Get an SSD for OS and some cheaper large drive for storage.
