July 7, 200420 yr There is no way that valve can sue websites, this is a scare tactic that some faggot at valve has dreamed up while he was jerkin off in his private little restroom. For 1> hacks are not modifying the software itself for example> similiar to the cheat and codes that you can get for playstation games and so forth do you see xbox doing the same? their targeting the websites they believe to not have the money to go to court and prove their case against valve, not too many sites have the funds to hire a topdog lawyer to defend them. another example> the so called Ford Motor Company tried to sue 3rd party companies for the development of high performance parts for their cars> they DID NOT SUCCEED! software copy rights are not being violated in anyway by creating hacks for them, hacks do not contain any of the source codes that the software uses, hacks are developed in a way that they hook up to the source and then inject the so called configs to make the hack work. Valve is getting tired of spending money for fuckwads to sit at a PC and find and implement HEX's to disable hacks, its all in the HEX's, all you have to do is edit the HEX to make it work in a matter of secs. Ive been using the same hack for 6mons now and it even works in CZ.
