If it had only been leaked to a few and it was kept secret, people could have created keygens because the cdkey algorithm was included in the source, but now valve will surely change that up. Basically, everyone can now learn how the engine works and exploit it easier.

Its better to reverse engineer and play the game in a few months than still have to reverse engineer and play the game in 2 years. Their gonna have to change the engine completely, so now we have the same thing accept 2 years later.

October 3, 200321 yr I think Valve did this in realizing they weren't ready to release it when they said they were, so now they made those fake claims to push back their date a little to not make them look bad... its all a conspiracy also, maybe it was nvidia, since hl2 is going with ATI. does anyone know if a cd key gen has been made in the event of this source leak?
