ATi, The GeforceFX series are the crappiest ever produced. Even when the 5900ultra and next are as good (speed wise) as the Radeon series competators, the image quality is inferior.

But then if you want to get the next gen cards (6800ultra, x800xt-pe...) U have to read benchmarks and shit, to see what u prefer, they both have their downfalls.

I got a Radeon 9800 Pro (Flashed to XT) and im really fucking happy with it, i suggest getting it

I SAY GET A GEFORCE.

but not a geforceFX cuz they're g@y as niggahs, I'd get a sweet new GeForce 6 series card.

w8 here are some links about the struggle between ati and nvidia, I think you'll find them very usefull. Read them!

but first a lill quote:

""Nvidia brings back SLI (Slim Multi-GPU)

Nvidia today announced its new SLI Multi-GPU technology which greatly increases graphics performance by providing a way for users to link together multiple GeForce 6-series video cards in a single PC system. Nvidia claims its SLI implementation increases performance by up to 87 percent, according to a composite score comprised of benchmark results from 3DMark03 Game Tests 2, 3, and 4 and the unreleased Epic Games Unreal Engine 3.

Many may remember 3dfx's original SLI technology, Scan Line Interleave, which connected two Voodoo2 video cards together and divided the graphics workload by having each card draw every other line on the screen. Nvidia did obtain the original SLI technology and brand assets when it acquired 3dfx's intellectual property several years ago, but Nvidia representatives assured us that the SLI Multi-GPU technique is completely new technology--Nvidia is only reviving the SLI name for marketing purposes.

Nvidia's SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface and offers major improvements over 3dfx's dual-card implementation. Nvidia's technology links together two GeForce 6800 Ultra or GT cards via a high-speed digital interface. The actual GeForce GPU silicon contains dedicated logic to enable inter-GPU communications, and enthusiast level PCI Express GeForce 6800 cards will have specialized connectors for SLI implementation.

Instead of having cards divide the graphics workload by drawing every other line, Nvidia uses a "Symmetric Multi-Rendering with Dynamic Load Balancing" technique where a special algorithm divides each frame into two halves based on workload complexity and has one card render the top portion while the other renders the bottom. While the original 3dfx Voodoo2 SLI setup used analog pass-through cables, the Nvidia multi-GPU system has one card reassemble complete frames in digital form before sending the information to the monitor.

High-end system manufacturer Alienware has previously announced a similar multi-card "Video Array" technology that uses an additional add-in card, what the company calls a Video Merger Hub, to reassemble frames from both cards. Alienware's system will be compatible with both ATI and Nvidia-based PCI Express video cards since the Video Array system does not rely on the specialized SLI connectors only present on the Nvidia cards.

Nvidia's SLI technology will only work with matching PCI Express GeForce 6800 GT and Ultra cards of the same vendor type and card version. Users, of course, will also need a motherboard with two PCI Express x16 graphics connectors.

GeForce 6-series SLI systems won't be available for sale until this fall, but Nvidia will have demo systems on display at several major events this summer, including the Electronic Sports World Cup, Fragapalooza, the CPL Extreme Championships, Siggraph, and QuakeCon. ""

that should help u choose the best one

lol rebel I didn't say get an MX, mx series suck.

I got me a nice old Nvidia GeForce 4 TI4600, but its good enough for me.

hail Nvidia (xcept the MX g@y sries) :bowrofl:

I can't fucking stand ATi chipset, nothing but problems upon problems,

why do you think they release so many new drivers all the time?

not because their cards are good. THEY FUCKING SUCK

I rather have the reliability and compatibility of nvidia over the 10 extra fps and constant compatibility issues of ati.

rofl, yeah right and the FX dont have mx series, its XT.

Nvidia might have more stable drivers, but their image quality sucks compared to Radeons plus ati doesnt fucking cheat in 3Dmark. look on the 3dmark forums and ull see that 80% of the posts will be about crappy perf on the 6800...

this kinda backs up both fahkers and sunrises points but ill still be going with the ati.....

"The NV30 doesn't mean that NVIDIA is going the way of 3dfx. Far from it. It proves that they are still doing what made them an incredibly successful company. It proves, however, that ATI has stepped up to the challenge of making a graphics chipset that can compete with NVIDIA. It proves that ATI isn't going to sit around and design hardware that is crippled by mediocre drivers. With the Radeon 9700, we've seen ATI's driver development team step up to the plate, although the majority of responses at Rage Underground's 01/15/2003 user survey rate ATI's drivers as unsatisfactory."

You think i give a shit if they cheat, i'm not here for uber nerdness, I want stability in my system not a graphics card that has leet fps but doesnt run shit like its supposed to

again ur wrong, ive never had ANY problem wiht my card, or with the drivers, fuck off with that whole ati nvidia war though its all about personal preference and if u dont understand u should stfu

neither have i. ive had my ati for about 5 or 6 months now? and i have had no problems with it except for with DeusEx Invisible War. But i think that was because the game is fucking bugged all to hell but im still not sure which was the problem.
