Due to the fact that the newest public server version of Ventrilo 2.2.0 is limited to 8 clients only, myg0t has reverted its Ventrilo server back to version 2.1.4. So if you want to be use our public ventrilo server for your gaming needs, you must install or still have the old client. They made it so the newer client 2.2.0 cannot connect to older servers in a effort to force admins to have to rent Ventrilo servers through their licensed hosts.

Now don't get me wrong, I have no problems with licensing software products and good ones. We pay every year for our forum software license, because its a damn good product. I think Ventrilo is the best voicechat program there is. I do however have a problem when fuckers don't even offer the option to buy their product or license. There is NO option at all anymore, they flat out tell you if you want a licensed server then you MUST rent it from one of their licensed hosts. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Talk about greed and wanting to control who has your product. Reminds me of Microsoft.

 

So that's the story.

 

Also please note, that the ventrilo server is public and anyone can use it, myg0t members do not idle in it 24/7 and for the most part just use it from time to time when gaming or such. So do not expect to find a huge myg0t presence on the server like you'd find on the forums or IRC.

But if u want to set up a server, u have to forward the port you are hosting it on.

Install it to a different program folder and start menu group, and then you can run them individually. The 2.1.3 installer doesnt complain about installing over a new version like the 2.1.4 version you could find. Also its possible to run both (or multiple copies of one) simultaneously but that will only increase possible problems you may have....
