August 17, 200420 yr The process that the thread outlined no longer works. However, people have said that if you use a legit credit card, and cut the steam.exe process after the first registration bar (same way as the previous) then steam will give you CZ without charging the credit card. I'm not sure if it actually works though.

August 17, 200420 yr ############################ # How2 Get CS:CZ on Steam # # by Ad0o # ############################ This small guide is by me, Ad0o.If you want to contact me i spend a helluva lot of time at http://www.zimininet.com on the forums there. u will need: * A steam account with half life registered * A program called GCFScape. I have included it in this archive. If you cant get it to run read the readme for it. * To create a special shortcut to launch the game. 1) In Steam on the games menu click condition zero 2) Say You already have the game 3) Open windows task manager and in process's highligh steam.exe ready. 4) Enter the serial: 5Z62E-79JDV-79NAM-ZGVE6-ARBWY 5) Press next, after the first yellow block (or second) has appeared end steam.exe 5.1) This may take several attempts and when it is done correctly the game should move from the Available section in steam to My Games but be grayed out. 6) Start up steam again. If Czero is now in the My Games, right click on it and choose to install it. Then let Condition zero fully update DO NOT try and launch it through the games menu, it will be removed from the menu (the content you already have wont be deleted tho) 7) When its fully up-to-date close steam and open GCFScape. If you cant open GCFScape because of an error 99% of the time it is because you dont have the m$ .net framework. For info on that goto http://countermap.counter-strike.ne.../index.php?c=74 Anyway, open the condition zero.gcf in gcfscape and extract it to your desktop. Open counter-strike.gcf and extract to desktop also. (They can be found in the dir C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps) 8) Drop the contents of czero into cstrike. Overwrite when asked. Now delete the empty czero folder and rename the cstrike one to czero 9) Place this folder in "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\ [[email protected]]\half-life" 10) In the games menu right click condition zero and tell it to create desktop shortcut. Go into the properties of that shortcut.It should have -applaunch 80 at the end, change it to -applaunch 70 -game czero Apply changes. 11) Launch the game from that shortcut and play !!! Notes: Keep the condition zero icon in your games list When there is an update re-extract the gcf so you have the new content enjoy =) Blasen sie meinen schwanz

August 17, 200420 yr Yeah, Chink, that works. Actually, you don't even have to put in a legit credit card number, you can put in a fake one. All you have to do is put in the # and crash steam right after it starts processing, and it will put it in your "My Games" list forever. I'll try to get more detailed instructions as there might be more to it then that, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I know there's something you have to do involving a shortcut to actually get it to run. Also, I know a few people that have done this, and you can in fact preload the CS:S beta by getting a copy like this. I'm assuming you can play it on the 18th as well...

I'll find out later today though. Well as far as I know, the fact that CZ is "cracked" I guess you'd say, has nothing to do with CS:S running. The way Steam detects if you have CZ is just by checking your My Games List after all, so it can't tell the difference between a version you got the right way or a version you got the wrong way. So yeah, I'm sure you'll beable to play CS:S beta the same way as everyone else does. No need for cracks or any of that BS.

CS:Source is the original CS code ported onto the Half-Life 2 engine with added physics and a few gameplay changes. So for those most part it's CS with a huge graphics upgrade. Steam is releasing a beta to the CS:CZ owners which has already started preloading and will be "released" or activated on the 18th (tomorrow). There is already a cracked version of the beta out but there's a whole other thread about that. The cracked version is actually pretty cool to rage with voice because it's bugged and you can't mute, the only way to "mute" is to do voice_enable 0 but most people are too dumb to figure that out.
