Stop making fun of the US army. If it wasn't for them there would be terrorists at our door steps. What would you do then, pull out your 1337 hax? I think not.

I would fucking own em with this

When I first read that the game was made by the Army, I knew it was going to be a mediocre. Hmm let's see, a bunch of retards from west point developes an FPS game! It's able to attract so many players only because it was free and Army's powerful advertising capabilities. Ok i'll give credit that when it first came out, it had realistic elements but now BF2's squad elements really puts the Army's own game to shame.

Someone make a russian army game. it is the best army in the world

cuz russian train with live weapons. stupid ones get eliminated. americans need to practice with lazer tag and paintball and incorporate the stupid ones.

It's not much of a recruitment tool. It just rages me because i have to site through a bunch of training shit to get a sniper rifle.
I'v played it in the past. The game is a sub par FPS thats really more of a recruitment tool than a game. Ironically you always play as the US military if you are defending you see the attacking enemy as terrorist. While they are the ones who see you as the terrorists and them as the US army. But hey that would explain why we have so much friendly fire deaths over in the middle east... maybe our military is that retarded.

The reasons why they don't wish for people to make mods or cheat is simply because it would lose the whole recruitment tool that the army paid millons for. You can't brainwash people to join the army in a StarWars mod. Plus cheaters will only rage other players and distract them from the subliminal messages (yes there are some in the game)

Thats why they throw those little hissy fits. Ironically they also moniter how you play and your behavior.

Who in the right mind would want to join the army today anyways? If anyone reading this is considering joining the military go into the airforce. You won't be cannon fodder and you get better benefits and able to retire eariler. If you join the army you will be treated like dirt and will just be sent to die in Iraq.

I'm prolly gonna get burned for this...but im joining the Marines when i graduate high school gl to me =]

Well good luck to you man, hope you don't have to go to Iraq cause I hear marines have it the toughest over there. At least they've got the rep and the respect. As for Army, they're still a bunch of fucking retards in my book.

OldManPeterson']Uncle Sam's game America's Army, which is a FPS and made by the Army as a proganda recruiting tool (strange leave out the shit job and low pay part). Well, this game like all online FPS games has over time had some modifcations or cheats made for the game. Well a developer for the game warned cheaters in a forum post that if you tinker with the game's EULA, you're "misusing Army property, and worse, you're misusing US Army computer programs and equipment," prosecutable as a cybercrime. "The Army is angry, and we’re coming for you," the developer claims.

Funny stuff.

I really don't know much about this game, as I played it once and thought it was crap, but I'd assume they allow modifcations to the game like most FPS games and even encourage it. If this is the case then I again challenge them to legally prove the difference between a legal modifcation to the game and what they consider a illegal modifcation to the game. I still say there is no difference between a cheat and a mod, both make changes to the game. Then there is the issue that the game servers are run by private owners who are ultimatley in charge of what they allow and not allow on the server (basically the rules).

I personally think we have another raged developer who spoke before thinking with a meaningless threat.

**Didn't read all the thread, could have been said before**

Actually, AAO is a non-modifiable game. They do not allow mods/changes ect. skins/models/sound/texture packs none of it. You play it the way you download it, or you are breaking the EULA...

At least, thats when I played.. (2.1 to 2.2, now its 2.5?)

I agree, a hook that makes my aim pop on players heads/allows me to run 10 times faster than normal is no different from a mod that adds new gametypes, weapons, levels and player models !
